Re: Dog poo

Gretch observed....''Can’t see anything in the OP, that states that he is Spanish? ''

I also noted that Gretch, but according to jhonie99 only Spanish people are capable of such dastardly acts...

Re: Recycling in Spain..Update...

Thanks everyone for your input and I guessed that it would differ regionally as do many other matters ! I've mentioned before that I was the MD of a recycling experiment in the early 1980's, ( 3 years ) I was asked by the local council because of my involvement with the antiques business ( house cle...

Re: Dog poo

In answer to jhonie 99.....The problem with planting the likes of Oleanders is that if the dogs can pee on them then they die quickly... I tried the sonic alarms , but they didn't work... jhonie you must of had some bad experiences to have such a low opinion of Spanish people, I've had very few prob...

Re: Dog poo

Mariposa, I sympathise with you, but it's a common problem and not just in Spain.! I don't know if you have tried other approaches with your neighbour but may I suggest that you take him a gift, perhaps a bottle of whisky and if he's married a plant for his missus ? I've found that many times a tota...

Recycling in Spain..Update...

In my area the local people seem to have become more conscious lately about putting items that can be recycled in the correct bins, infact the normal 'Basura' waste bins seem to be less full than previously. I just wondered if this is the case in Your Area ? I still find quite alot of discarded bott...

Re: The forum

Humour comes in many forms and I've always found that old fashioned 'slapstick' type humour is favoured in Spain, as for deep, sinister and perverse humour etc. is best left in the dark place that it comes from, in my opinion. In my village this weekend it's fiesta time and everyone is happy and smil...

Re: Online business

Good Morning Jo, Whatever you decide to do in Spain it's important to remember that you need to adapt your lifestyle/ambitions etc and for any business ventures I believe that it's essential to look at all angles, for instance you mention the postage cost ,you just need to adjust your ideas to suit ...

Re: Second hand furniture

Hello, I don't know your area very well, but as you will travel can I suggest that you visit as many car-boot/ fleamarkets, there are also many Second-hand shops ( Rastro ), selling services and adverts in such as facebook and many other online selling platforms and try asking at local bars, they us...

Re: Online business

Jo, Can I suggest that you contact a Gestor ( pronounced hes tor ) when you arrive they are not expensive and can set you up properly, the social security payment is quite high but I think good value, you will get health and other benefits and of course when you have paid at least 1 year you should ...

Re: Omega 3

Gerry, I personally believe that I benefit from taking Glucosamine and I've several friends who agree with me, however I would suggest that you give them a try for perhaps 6 months and see if they work for you. They are not expensive, numerous companies deliver free or cheap to Spain. It's also impo...

Re: Online business

Hello and Welcome, Until retirement I had online 'shops' and it is viable to operate from Spain and you could continue to run your existing business by just changing your dispatch address and I would suggest that you factor some of the postal costs into your product price and then continue to charge...

Re: Exhuming Franco

Lavanda pointed out..... It was the Christians that did that, not the Romans. The Christians chopped of heads and noses and also arms from Greek and Roman statues, especially of gods and goddesses to 'release the evil spirits within the statue'..... And I would like to point out that they also chopp...

Re: Omega 3

I do hope that everyone adopts a 'common sense' approach to taking any supplements, I personally have little faith in reports issued by so called experts, it makes me wonder who is funding these expensive research programmes.? I would suggest that fancy packaging and film star recommendations of any...

Re: Thinking of buying in Andalucia...

Wicksey, It's always interesting to read your views on all matters, I know that your comments are based on your personal experiences and very valid and the comments of others such as Miro are I'm sure very helpful to anyone on the 'move'. I know that some people are put off by adverse reports about ...

Re: Exhuming Franco

The tomb of Franco is just one of the very sensitive issues which divides the Spanish community, and my personal feelings are that it should be a matter for only Spanish people to decide what to do. On the 'other' side the debate about exhuming Republican fallen is also very strong, in particular Fe...

Re: Omega 3

I have taken cod liver oil daily for most of my life, and old fashioned cod liver oil is rated as good as eating oily fish which is great for me as I don't really like fish. And have I had any adverse effects ?. Well not that I'm aware of....my eyes are big and bright and my gills work well and my sc...
