Re: Paying Renta Tax Bill in Cash at the bank

The payment was taken out of my account on 2 July last year (paid in total, not split into two instalments). I don't know if you can pay from someone else's account.

Re: Capital gains question

Do make sure you get a certificate of fiscal residence from AEAT before the sale is completed, to avoid having 3% of the sale price retained against CGT liability and having to claim it back. In my experience the certificate takes at least 2 weeks to arrive once applied for, so don't leave it until ...

Re: Paying Renta Tax Bill in Cash at the bank

I paid my plus valia in May 2017 at a branch of Santander (not my own bank, which wasn't on the list). It was over €4k so I asked if it would be a problem to pay in cash, given the legal limits on cash transactions, but they said not. But as I said, that was to the Ayuntamiento not AEAT. Banks also ...

I didn't suggest it wasn't, katy. I was replying to the OP who asked if you could pay bills at any bank.

Re: Paying Renta Tax Bill in Cash at the bank

Bills which are payable in cash (IBI or utility bills, for example) have a list of banks where you can pay printed on them - you can't pay them at just any bank. I paid the plus valia in cash when I sold my house, but of course that was payable to the Ayuntamiento, not the AEAT. I don't know if you ...

Re: INSS Cita Previa

When we moved in October 2017, the administrator at the Centro de Salud did change our address on their system, but also told us to go to the TGSS on Av. ToréToré in Torre del Mar (not the INSS in Vélez-Málaga) for them to change it as well. We did not need a cita previa at that time, but that may h...

Re: notification from bank re NIE renewal

There is an official stamp on mine, in blue ink, with the signature of the issuing officer across it, but no mention of an expiry date, it's just the stamp of the Comisaria de Policia Nacional where it was issued.

Re: notification from bank re NIE renewal

I don't think it's right, either. I got my NIE in 2003 and it doesn't have an expiry date.

Re: Possible error on Modelo 100 tax return

You don't need a digital signature to complete your own tax return online, Lavanda, nor a PIN Cl@ave. It can be done by obtaining a reference number via the AEAT website (there has been another very recent thread about how to do that, I'm sure), as long as you have a copy of last year's return so yo...

Re: Land registry/notary/ Registro de Propied,

Be warned, sometimes it is busy because you get staff from lawyers' or notaries' offices going in with a whole stack of things to be processed and it can take a long time. The one good thing I will say is that I could pay the fee for the nota simple there and then in cash, not the usual nonsense of ...

Re: Land registry/notary/ Registro de Propied,

I've never had to register a rental contract, but have been to the Vélez office 4 times to get nota simples. I didn't need cita previas to do that, they have someone working on a reception desk to attend to the public. The most recent occasion was in 2017.

Re: Land registry/notary/ Registro de Propied,

No,the Registro de Propiedades have their own offices, they are completely separate from the notaries. According to this link the nearest one to Nerja is in Torrox so presumably that will be your local one. There are 3 separate Registro de Propiedades offices in Vélez, covering Vélez, Torre del Mar ...

Re: Moors and Christians parade- Velez Malaga

I hadn't seen this advertised, Gerry, so couldn't give you any information. However, there has definitely been something going on, or will be this evening - as I was coming home just now and passed the old Hospital San Juan de Dios (now the MVel museum) there was a line of 8 lovely horses tied up ou...

Re: "you´ll need at least 40k in the bank before i can start showing you properties"

Is it because of mortgage lending limits? Looking online it seems to suggest that banks will only lend up to 70% of the value of the property (even for residents) - and then, of course, buyers have to find an additional 10/12% on top of the purchase price for transfer tax, legal and notary fees. Tha...

Re: Double Taxation

I got an email alert this morning to tell me that my tax code had been changed and I should log into my Personal Tax Account to check the details. Hurrah, it is now correct so they have acted swiftly, I'm glad to say. Haven't had the promised callback yet and I'm not sure if they will now, so no exp...

Re: Double Taxation

Thanks, Wicksey. I did access my Personal Tax Account via their website to see if it was possible to request a change of tax code but couldn't see any way to do it, there was only an option to let them know if my income details had changed (which they haven't). I have rung them this morning but it w...

Thank you both, for confirming that this must be an error. I agree, HMRC staff have always been very helpful when I've contacted them regarding other things, so I'll give them a ring tomorrow.

Double Taxation

Last year I finally got around to submitting the Spain (Individual) Double Taxation form with a certificate of fiscal residence to HMRC, and received a letter from them confirming that my main occupational pension would now be exempt from UK tax and an NT tax code had been issued for this. My smalle...

You could try this one:- http://planamalaga.com/guided-tours/ The people who run La Casa de las Titas (old family home converted into apartments, really nice place to stay) also run guided tours at various times (eg night time ones during the summer, special Halloween themed tours, etc) but I think ...
