Re: Gestor fees

If you live within easy reach of an Agencia Tributaria (Hacienda) office, you can make an appointment (online) with them when the time comes to submit annual tax returns, and they will complete the return in their office from the figures you supply. No supporting documentation is ever asked for (in ...

Re: Weather

The winter of 2009/10 is the worst one we've experienced in Spain so far - it was really awful and scarcely stopped raining for months on end. So far this year doesn't seem as bad as that, but as we're not even at the end of November yet it's really too early to make any judgements. And Lake Viñuela...

Re: Has anyone ever modified their residencia details (including nationality)?

I haven't changed my nationality, but I have amended my resident registration twice, once when I renewed my passport and once when I moved house to update the address. My husband just amended his once, changing both the passport number and the address at the same time. The fee payable is the same as...

There are discussions going on with the new Spanish Government about changing the system of contributions for autonomos to be based on actual earnings.

Re: gota fria this weekend?

Yes, on the whole I don't think October has been too bad so far, it was only cold for 3/4 days, really, and temperatures are set to be pretty warm for the rest of the month according to the forecasts. It was a very sudden drop, though, as elusive said. We don't know where we are with regards to what...

Re: 2018 IBI Bills - Vélez-Málaga

Thanks, Gerry - I got home this evening after a few days to find mine in the letterbox, so not sure exactly when it arrived but at least it's here now. Amount is the same as last year so no nasty surprises and it's stamped Domiciliado so my lawyer did her job right in setting up the new direct debit.

Re: Residence Registration No Healthcare

Yes, their limit for funding "prosthetics" which include biological and artificial heart valves as well as things like new hip and knee joints is €2,000. If you need one which costs more than that, they don't pay the €2k and leave you to fund the rest, you have to pay the whole sum yoursel...

Re: Residence Registration No Healthcare

Which company was that? Sid Prevision Medica. I took out insurance with them originally (nearly 9 years ago now) because I saw recommendations from you and some other forum members at the time, so thank you for that! But as you know, they only provide cover in Málaga province and parts of Córdoba a...

Re: Residence Registration No Healthcare

I was surprised by that, too. My insurance has paid out for open heart surgery plus 8 days in intensive care, 3 nights in a normal hospital room, and all the pre-operative and post-operative consultations and tests this year, for a current monthly premium of €64. The premiums are guaranteed to incre...

I've had my blood pressure checked at two local farmacias, and they did not charge in either of them.

So, not received mine as yet.

Thank you, Gerry. I'll put off calling into the Patronato de Recaudación office to ask why I haven't had a bill yet, then.

2018 IBI Bills - Vélez-Málaga

Has anyone who lives in the Vélez-Málaga municipality received their 2018 IBI bill yet? I am due to get a bill for the first time for this property and my lawyer assured me that she had arranged for it to be sent to me, but nothing has arrived yet and it seems rather late compared to previous years.

Re: Air Conditioning fitted

I was told that aircon fitters will not usually fit shop bought ones as we looked into that. We have Fujitsu which we are really pleased with. Installed last autumn and we used them all winter for heating and very efficient (they are A++ rated). Our electricity bills were lower than when we used el...

Re: Sabadel national bank transfer fees.

This sets out how Currency Fair's charging structure works. They do definitely still have a flat transfer fee of €3 per transaction (I use them too, btw, and have always found their service excellent).

Re: Padron renewed every 5 years

When I moved last year, I just went to the Oficina Atención del Cliente of our Ayuntamiento and changed my details to the new address. You'll need to take a copy of your escritura or rental contract for your new address, plus your passport and resident certificate. No need to pay your lawyer to to d...

Re: buying

It used to be, before the property crash. A property might have been on the market for a year, not sold, but at the start of the following year the vendor would still put the asking price up rather than reducing it! It used to amuse me as it was so much the opposite to the UK. When we were looking f...

Re: Thinking of buying in Andalucia...

I'm keen to hear of any issues you encountered when buying - what went wrong (and what would you do differently, if there were a next time). On more mundane items; how easy is to organise electric, gas and water? I am assuming it's a more painful process than in the UK? I bought a house in Spain in...

Re: Ryanair Flights & Entering Passport Information

I have already paid for priority boarding but still haven't the option of inputting API information, does this mean that 2 months before I can input my info without paying anything extra ? As I said with Primera you can input your API info months before and you DON'T have to pay for priority boardi...
