I do not usually comment on political matters, but your comment requires it..... I take it that you are including the British and Mr Chamberlin in your boot lockers. This subject/stream should be closed

Re: advice repatriating money to UK

Having just sold my house for Euros, it depends on how you are being paid. If it is going to be a Spanish Euro bank transfer it pays to use currency direct as they have a Spanish bank account for it to be paid directly into saving your Spanish bank's commission. If, like me, you get a transfer from ...

Martin EB, your Spanish neighbours may be lovely, but I know the area well. Please tell which bar/café they think this happens at so that it can be defended.

Re: No Money in Spain

In Devon, England, every pub is packed at lunchtime with pensioners eating their fill. My Dad (93) said there's no point in pensioners saving so they go out and spend it. What part of Devon is that? In my part, Dawlish, no pub (there are 13) is packed at lunchtime, with pensioners or otherwise. Bit...

3% retention on house sale

Hi, I know what it is and what it is for, but how does it work in practice. Who actually hands it to the tax man and when. Is it the buyer before transferring funds to the seller, or is it the seller after receiving the funds from the buyer. Thanks in advance, jeff.

Re: 13 year itch? Maybe now time to move on?

After seventeen years here, six on a boat and eleven in the campo, I have just got an apartment overlooking the sea in my home town of Torquay in Devon. A bit older, I was finding things just a bit more difficult or tedious here in Spain. Time for a change, unlike others here I never intended to mak...

Re: Traffic fine

I have tried the local station (Valor), with a Spanish person, they just suggested some of the things we have tried already. The main problem is still that I did not receive the original ticket. I have now had 3 emails from companies who got my details from the bolitin, but they just say "take ...

Re: Traffic fine

Yes, with the help on Linea Directa I have established that it is a Granada Parking fine, I now have the ticket number but am no nearer to paying it. Granada's website appears to need a password which I do not have, but I have found the online ticket but can get no further. jeff
