Re: How to get a final statement for closed bank account

Wow! Thank you so much for the info Gasman.... I THOUGHT that was the case but of course as with all things Spanish, I didn't know if it was a legal requirement or not (although I thought it must be!) This is one thing that drove me potty when I lived over there (and which UK folk just don't usually...

Re: How to get a final statement for closed bank account

Ha. Sabadell certainly is! (a licensed criminal!) Does anyone know though whether Spanish banks are actually obliged to hold onto a final statement?

Re: How to get a final statement for closed bank account

Hi ... that's exactly what I requested (or emailed)!!! This is what's making me so mad.... they are claiming the information is 'unavailable' ........ I know full well that if they thought I owed THEM money, it would jolly well be available!!! And yes I've paid the non-res fee for the last 8 years....

How to get a final statement for closed bank account

Hi all ..... I don't live in Spain now (but still visit frequently) and have had a Banco Sabadell for about 10 years. I recently closed it (11 Feb) having forgotten that I'd given it as the account into which to make a certain payment. Long story short, I don't know whether the payment was made or n...

Re: Windows 10

I'm so thrilled at the improvement of W10 over W8/8.1 on my desktop compy that I'm seriously considering upgrading my netbook..... would you still advise waiting a couple of months or going ahead? It (a 6-month old Toshiba Satellite NB10T) really is SO SLOW IT DRIVES ME BONKERS   IE and ...

Re: Windows 10

Totally agree re W7...... why fix it if it ain't broke?! (Oh. Touch screens I guess.(But they got it horribly wrong with w8..... as they did with the late and unlamented Vista. If W10 works as well as w7 then I for one will be happy. And after reading the various posts I WILL wait to upgrade my netb...

Re: Windows 10

Agree!
Well so far I have to say that I MUCH prefer W10.... the start up process, layout etc are so much better and more logical but perhaps more importantly, I'm finding (so far!!) that programs which used to consistently freeze and/or crash with W 8/8.1 are now working properly... so far so good!

Re: Windows 10

Forgive me, but I'd have thought you had to be intelligent in order to be competent (in this instance!) However, even though I felt your original post was insulting to the many a.com members who are both intelligent AND competent, I don't feel a slanging match will benefit anyone.

Re: Windows 10

I think it's an EXTREMELY insulting comment!!! I've had far more INTELLIGENT advice from members of a.com than the vast majority of so-called 'experts' who do computers as a business. S'there.

Re: Windows 10

Yet another with problems! Sadly I had no choice BUT to go with the pile of useless you-know-what that is W8/8.1 when I had to buy new netbook and new desktop about 4 months ago..... IMHO there was NOTHING wrong withW7 which I found perfectly fine!!! So.. long story short, I was looking forward to w...

Re: Blue badge (disabled). What is the situation?

I'd just like to clarify that they most assuredly DON'T give 'everyone over 70' a blue badge in the UK!!! You have to prove physical disability, WITH a doctor's report usually....and the badges are very hard to come by! Just saying...... :wtf:

Re: Blue badge (disabled). What is the situation?

Thanks guys  That's been a big help! Still not sure about the 'free' parking tho.....in UK it does vary slightly between boroughs (ie some give free parking at council-owned car parks as well as on-street etc while others don't).........? PS..followed the link to the reciprocal 'inf...

Blue badge (disabled). What is the situation?

Does a bona fide 'blue badge' entitle one to park free on the streets in towns etc as it (usually) does in the UK? I'm not planning to park in silly places, or obstruct anyone (that'll put me totally out of kilter with the natives, then, ) and I DID ask a Nazi in town last time, but sadly my S...

ok many thanks....will check that out and no, it wasn't that same message! Well...curiouser and curiouser as Alice would say..... today's instalment! I suddenly thought I could check if I'd done something stupid (highly likely!) on or to my laptop, so I've dug out my netbook and had a go on there. S...

PPS....now it's REALLY getting weird....... SOME email histories it can 'find'.....the majority not. I have Googled till I'm all googled out and I'm no nearer finding out what's going on.....plus I've wasted a whole day. So...then I've tried to sign into my gmail account.....only to get a message ab...

Re: Outlook

PS......what really puzzles me is that this particular issue only started 2 days ago.....about the same time as it suddenly stopped 'seeing' a certain folder in my documents library (when I needed to attach a file to an email)......could the two things be related and if so why/how??? (I've had the a...
