Re: Having a car to use in UK

Agree with your cost analysis, Peter. The same reasoning that I purchased a car for whilst in Spain Similarly, I agree, but we also investigated Car Clubs in the UK, but there were no reasonably priced and reliable ones where we wanted to live in the UK. There might just be one in your area....... ...

Re: Leroy Merlin - Little Faith

Morning All We had an excellent experience of 'return' goods with Leroy Merlin...... On one of our jaunts to the coast we bought a power washer from the Leroy Merlin store near Plaza Mayor in Malaga, but after several weeks of satisfactory use, it developed what seemed to be an electrical fault, and...

Re: Entering Madrid by car

Hi ashtondav Regret that I don't know, but there will likely be something on the DGT website..... A similar problem must arise in London with their low emissions regime? And of course all cars are subject to the London Congestion Charge, and the Dartford Crossing Charge Above my pay grade I'm afraid...

Re: Entering Madrid by car

Hi Mark We got our 'eco' sticker from our local post office in rural Andalucia last week. You need to take your vehicle documents and the owner's NIE to the post office, and they access a DGT database with the reg number and advise you of which sticker (of the four different types) you need. Cost us...

Fibre Glass Lined Pool

Hi All I wondered if any of you experts out there might be able to advise us? Last year we had our leaking pool refurbished (re-concreted, and covered with two laters of 'painted' fibre glass, and all pipework renewed (previously the pool was ceramically tiled) which seems to have worked, since ther...

Re: PISCINALINER.COM

We looked at this company when we had exactly the same problems as you, and based on the size of our pool and location of our house (La Puebla de Cazalla A92 km63) from their base, they quoted us €6,900. Perhaps they would have done a great job...... However, our trusted local 'pool and well' contra...

Re: AstralPool Heat B250-M been sitting for more than a year

Hope that this is allowed? I would recommend Ken Walker - ken@poolsafetyspain.com - Pool Safety Spain, Calle Alozaina 14, Alhaurín el Grande, Málaga 29190 - whom we have found always very helpful with good advice. We hear that he has an excellent reputation and not only provides a comprehensive pool...

Re: Malaga Airport P1 & P3 long term parking

I completely agree Nerjaboy..... Having had poor experiences in the past forty years with both offsite shuttle and valet parking in both the UK (Luton where the car was badly bumped, and Gatwick, where it was parked on an urban street and incurred fines) and in Spain (Malaga and Sevilla, where in bo...

Re: Malaga Airport P1 & P3 long term parking

I used the P3 before for short periods but now looking to leave the car at the airport for longer periods. The airport are offering 12 month contracts at what seem to be very competitive prices. Can you post a link Nerjaboy please? or post info on the costs please? and whether the policy applies to...

Re: Water tanks, yes or no?

Yep, I have a big deposito linked to the mains. The garden watering is taken from the deposito which is then filled up from the mains, so freshened every day. Installed a pump next to it so now when the water goes off, as it does for 4 or 5 days in summer we have power showers every day. Paradise. ...

Re: Leaking Pool

Hi All It seems a long time since we started this post, and as with BigClock, our pool problems would now appear to be all solved. The local builder and his men spent a week taking off the tiles, which revealed the cracks in the thirty year old concrete. All were repaired and replastered with waterp...

Good idea - subscribe to Amazon Prime early December for £7.99, free p&p for Christmas shopping, watch two lots of football, and cancel auto-renew before the month subscription is due early January....... Brilliant.......

Re: The Premier League on Amazon Prime.

As you say, £7.99 is good value for one group of up to ten games, if Amazon will offer one month subscription. Somehow I think that they might require an annual subscription, but I hope that I am wrong......

Re: The Premier League on Amazon Prime.

I reckon that the Boxing Day games will likely be at number of different times - 11:00, 13:00. 15:00, 17:00, and maybe even an evening game to maximise the audience and advertising, and the midweek games spread out on the Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, with 18:00 and 20:00 kick-offs (much like the...

Movistar PAYG Recharging

Hi All For fifteen years, we have recharged both our Movistar payg mobiles, by my Spanish debit card, online, with no problems..... Over the weekend, we tried to charge my wife's phone, but we got a succession of error messages, and it failed to recharge. My phone recharged perfectly...... After a b...
