Re: Weather in Granada in September

I don't agree with theses forecasts as I have a house near Granada and the evenings/nights in September are extremely warm. We find it cools about the first week in October, when the first snow is on the Sierra Nevada. Until then the mountains hold the heat from the sun and it stays really warm and ...

Re: Fox versus cat

I am overrun with foxes here in the U.k. and my very aggressive, large cat was attacked by a fox. We didn't know until the bite on top of his head got infected and exploded with puss, he had to be rushed to the vets who confirmed the jaw size was a fox. We often have foxes about during the day but t...

Re: Sending new bank cards from U.K.

I work for a bank and you can have two addresses on file, a U.K and another.
Many of our customers have their cards delivered direct to Spain so I am amazed you have not updated them.

Re: Tourist / Business rate of exchange? (£/€)

The best way of moving money to Spain is through a money broker. They give the best business rate and it costs nothing to send or be accepted into a Spanish bank account. I work for a bank and would not entertain the rates they charge even with staff benefits. I have sent over 20k in one go and it w...

Re: Catatastral Value/IBI

It took some years to complete for my house and I had a letter soon after telling me that I owed quite a few thousand in tax as the value was much higher and I must have paid more. This was to be reflected on my IBI etc so I appealled it and have just received my IBI bill, which is still at the old ...

Re: Economy CarHire

I use crown at Malaga quite often, I also book though an agent (BCO). I always insist on full/full for my five day hire, they don't put up much arguement. The only thing is that last time I went to their booth one lady was very rude and shouted at me for standing in the crown club queue. I have alwa...

Re: Ryanair online check-in

One of my fears as I also do a collect from airport service in the u.k. the times people have given me the wrong date of return, particularly on long haul. How did you fare, did they help you get a new ticket or what? Met some guys in Malaga the other wek and they missed their flight though alcoholi...

Re: Beds

Our bed in the U.K. now has a board as the betal slats started to warp the mattress, even though it was an expensive one. We added the board and our backs feel better for it, we might add one in Spain as if you look under the bed when someone lays on it you can see what I mean. Just one other thing,...

Re: Transfering money between UK and Spanish banks

Hi there I use xe.com, same deal but can send very small amounts with no charge and a good exchange rate. The spanish banks don't charge for electronic transfers in so its a win, win situation. I work for a U.K. bank and would not entertain their rates and charges. I only send £50 or so these days t...

Re: Ryanair online check-in

Its £100 to change those details so it makes no difference as its cheaper to buy a new flight. The only thing you can add cheaply is baggage an thats not my bag so no problem there  .

Ryanair online check-in

Just in case this is of any use.......I mis-counted my calendar and checked in 22 days in advance.
I printed the boarding passes for 4th august on 13th july and it still worked!!!
It still says on the web site a max of 15 days before but I suppose it must be a lot more as I've done it.

Re: Careful with the Pepinos!!

I think its the way the cucumbers were stored. They have already admitted that they have not imported any Spanish cucumbers since the winter, so where and how were these stored, yuk??? The reason that peppers were wrongly accused, a yahoo translator mistook pepinos for peppers!!! They changed their ...

Re: name change on the factura with Endesa?

I agree with Campo Steve
the meters are read every other month, like it or not. They are not like the English lot who eventually send you a snotty letter after not reading the meter for months.

Re: Travel with my Granddaughter.

I have travelled many times with non related children on Ryanair, I have even booked them as adults separately and then phoned the call centre to add them to my ticket so that I can complete the boarding/checking in process. I have never ever been questioned but I usually carry a letter from the par...

Re: Marconfort Greigo and Griego Mar Hotel

Ive stayed at the Flamingo, about 50 euros per couple half board including drinks at meals, good value and sister hotel to the El Pinar which I also think is great value, same sort of price and same meal arrangements (free drinks of wine, beer soft drinks and sangria).

Advice on Zaragoza

Hi all We will be spending a day or so in Zaragoza and wondered if anyone had anything to share. We are staying at the Holiday Inn (I know, but we have two teenagers and they do a big family room), and wondered if there was a bus to the town or hotel and how I could find out, also any tips on good, ...
