Re: Ferry to Spain

Be aware that if you want a pet-friendly cabin they are usually fully booked months in advance. The other alternative is that the dog stays in a kennel with opportunities for owners to visit for feeding, walks etc.

Re: The law, or urban myth?

I'm fairly sure this works the other way round too for a Spanish resident driving a UK plated car in Spain . https://www.gov.uk/importing-vehicles-into-the-uk/temporary-imports 6. Temporary imports You can usually use a vehicle with foreign number plates without registering or taxing it in the UK if...

Re: Andalucia or Andalusia?

I was sitting at a bar in Torremolinos a few years ago and overheard an Irishman saying that his wife had gone to visit Bella madonna. :lolno:

Still makes me chuckle thinking of it now.

Re: log burner

The best way to keep the glass clean is to burn the fire hot enough so that there are no deposits left on the door. A simple wipe with a damp cloth is then all that is required.

Re: boiler service

If by boiler you mean the usual fixed on the wall gas water heater, then any certified gas plumber should be able to sort it out. @ costakid. Our ancient (at least 15yrs old) Junkers water heater started playing up last year, we contacted our plumber and asked him to replace it for a newer model. He...

We must be as odd/sad as you Wicksey. My wife and I often make up names for Spanish plated cars we see by using the three letters.

Pressing the Windows key + R just brings up the "Run" screen. It is completely harmless to bring up "Run," But if you had continued to follow all the steps this guy was about to give you, your privacy may have been harmed. He probably would have asked that you typed in certain fi...

Re: A new life in the sun -TV series

We find that programme format irritating in the extreme. Designed for folk presumed to have an attention span of 3-4 minutes, and, by repeating/flashing-forward numerous times, allows a small amount of content to be expanded to fill an entire programme slot. Affects so many programmes: even Country...

It's looking almost certain that there will be a new general election on 26th of June, No party can find enough friends to form a coalition.

Opinion are polls suggesting that the outcome of a summer election will be broadly the same as in December, threatening more inertia. :(

It's heart breaking sometimes being a dog lover in Spain but you can only do so much. We have 2 rescued dogs who both give us so much joy. You have to be hard sometimes otherwise you end up the same as a couple we know who moved to Spain to enjoy their retirement and who are now skint, working 24/7 ...

Re: Which train station for Sevilla for arrival

I agree with Trooperman on this. Get a cab.
Your train from Madrid will stop at Santa Justa, NOT San Barnado.
By the time you have waited for the connecting local train to San Barnado (which is all of 2kms away) you could be sitting in your apartment with your feet up enjoying a cuppa.

Re: International Space Station

This is the view from the ISS directly down to earth. The crosshair indicates the current ground point. The map is updated every second.
The current position of the ISS is displayed on a GoogleMap, which is not real-time video. However, the position itself is real-time.
