Re: NIE Application or Renewal - process in July 2019

This always causes confusion as Nie is never renewed. Unless mine is different it's a white A4 piece of paper with your number in format X1244567X . No expiry date and the number is for life. Maybe it's different for non-retired or non-EU which may be your situation but I never heard of it being ren...

Re: Pavement / table tax for cafes

I can agree to a degree with situation of tables being blocked but I'm talking about a sleepy little village and a pavement that doesn't get used much. I can understand Malaga city centre or a big town where it gets busy, but this has suddenly come up when someone new took over a business that was q...

Re: Pavement / table tax for cafes

Thank you. It seems to refer to bars opening in the evening. My friend is being charged in Almeria province. Little cafe open during the day.

Pavement / table tax for cafes

I read somewhere that some town halls are charging a pavement or table tax and I wondered if anyone knew how it was calculated or if you had heard of it. I tried Googling to no avail but I know it exists.

Re: Possible error on Modelo 100 tax return

Wicksey you are not alone. My opinion is as mentioned by petrolracer. However as that's what you've always done then keep doing it. Watch out if someone new comes to the gestor's office and changes it without telling you. That's more or less what happened to me. I believe it has been a bit of a grey...

Re: Possible error on Modelo 100 tax return

petrolracer unfortunately that is exactly the same as UK and the Spanish tax authorities are liaising now with HMRC so I expect a few more will be disappointed if they start to investigate more UK taxpayers in Spain. There was certainly ambiguity and if you just carry on doing it the way you always ...

Re: Possible error on Modelo 100 tax return

I've found out that in this area the tax office have been looking at returns by UK citizens made in 2014. I know of 3 people who have had demands for tax due to incorrect returns ( 2 by the same accountant I used). The other person used a different accountant and was told that their company had been...

Re: Tax payment due May

The other thing is that to enter it on the rentaweb you have to put a C0 (that's zero) in front of it. So it's C0 then 7 digits. I tried to have a go myself but gave up and it took some searching to find out about the C0 lol

Re: Tax payment due May

I think you'll find they want one of the three. To use the new online tax return system rentaweb, they would need to see the back of the little green card showing numero de soporte. At least that's what our accountant wanted.

Re: Possible error on Modelo 100 tax return

UPDATE - Just had a letter from Hacienda informing me that they have been in touch with HMRC and it appears my return for year to 31.12.13 (presented in 2014) was incorrect. When I checked against the return I can see that they have added back all the reduction that was made re pension annuities. I ...

Re: Sky News Mystery on large dish

Many many thanks to Satandpcguy, a mine of information and a tremendous help with our problem. Rather than wait until Monday I tested the theory that if the problem was vertical polarity maybe I should change the default transponder to a horizontal frequency. I chose 10964 H 22000 5/6 and tested it ...

Re: Sky News Mystery on large dish

Many thanks. That would explain it. I dont want to interfere as the installer is getting a bit fed up with all the problem. The new multiswitch has controls to alter horizontal and vertical I think so maybe that got changed when connections were moved. Unfortunately as President I made the decision ...

Sky News Mystery on large dish

Something really weird has happened in our community TV system. We have a large 2.4mtr dish which has provided a reasonable signal to the 16 apartments connected to it. We have had a different multiswitch and lnb put in which hasn't performed as well as the old one but certsin times of the day, at l...

Re: No BBC at all

I use a vpn Freedome which gives you a free trial. Cheap to buy on ebay e.g. I got 5 annual licences for £25.99 - works on android or laptop. I have no problems with BBC iPlayer , ITV hub etc and it's really easy to use.

Re: Communal satellite dish for UK TV

I agree completely, but we actually have residents who still pay for a Sky subscription even though they also have internet. I think the only downside for internet, especially streamed live TV is that the wimax type internet here is so unreliable. Maybe fibre optic next year so that will make a diff...
