Re: Windows 10 - 1903

I've currently got 1809 on my laptop and did a minor update today and it says I am up to date. Is the big update 1903 rolled out all at once or is it done over time?

Re: SmartDNSProxy not working

It must have been June when I changed mine. I am using Sweden and Switzerland. I was using Spain but was told to change that to Sweden. The Swiss one is 81 17 17 170 which I haven't changed since setting it up.

Re: SmartDNSProxy not working

All working as normal here, but as North and South says sometimes iPlayer takes a couple of attempts to pick up the stream. But not so much recently as when they sent out their new updated list of DNS servers I changed mine for different ones and have found an improvement and also 4k UHD streams lo...

Interesting! Is your plot also in 'protected area'? I thought if the land was protected you couldn't build there?? We are in the campo on rustic land but the house was built in 2000. Before purchasing this we were told to walk away from a house that were were interested in buying as it was on pro-i...

Re: Alioli

Although it is often made like a mayonnaise with egg I have heard Spanish say it should be made without the egg and a friend said they make it with milk, oil, lemon juice and garlic. I think there are a lot of different versions of it and the ones that I am given in our local restaurants always seem...

Re: Ants!!!!

It's the only thing that's really worked for me, Unicorn, so hope it does for you. I have cats and don't like the powder either and it seems to get trodden everywhere. Once the Zum has dried I've not had a problem with our animals. It has done wonders when I have had a huge infestation in the past a...

Re: Legal report

I have a poliester above-ground pool and to my knowledge I do not need permission for it. (I did get permission for the concrete base when I applied for our gateposts but not the pool that sits on it as it can be removed and put onto the back of a lorry, the same way it arrived).

Re: Ants!!!!

I use Zum spray which I have found in Eroski and Dia. It smells like WD40 and is quite strong but when I've had a problem this is the only thing that keeps them away. I spray it all around the perimeter of the house and it does seem to stop them entering.

Re: Weather

Although 30 degrees here it feels cooler at night with the windows open as I think it hasn't yet had a chance for the heat to really build up. August is worse as the land is really hot by then and there never seems to be any respite. We don't sit outside and are not sunbathers but it is the days of ...

Filling a sand pool filter

Had to buy a new little 'monobloc' combined filter and pump for my above ground pool. The instructions, no doubt translated from Chinese, aren't very clear as to how much sand to put in. It says 19kg for a 12" filter and 27kg for a 14", but the box says it's 304cm which is somewhere betwee...

Re: Best supermarket wine

For whites we like Aldi's Casa la Luna Rueda and also their Monestario (I think) from memory it's a Chardonnay/ Gewerztraminer. For reds we tend to buy Faustino VI from Lidl or Faustino VII from Mercadona as we only really like Rioja. I think they're around 3.50€, the Rueda is only 2.29€.

Intelsat pixelating

Anyone else got problems with the I907 reception? It started pixelating about an hour ago, has got worse to the point of no signal at all at the moment.

Re: Hot tubs

My friends built a special room for theirs with patio doors so you can sit inside and still see the view. Having spent a few months there one winter, it was glorious to use every evening but I wouldn't have done so if it had been outside as it was a cold and wet winter. It is unfortunately very old ...

Re: Another driving licence question

I'm going to Lanzarote and for all my previous 11 trips to the the main 4 islands I've used Autoreisen who have always been so good with no excess.

My OH is changing his licence first to Spanish so it's possible I'll still have my UK one when we go.

Re: Champions and Europa League finals

I got home in time to faff around and eventually found that by using an old Browsec VPN extension on Chrome I did manage to get the BT Sport's coverage to work via the PC. The picture quality wasn't brilliant but it did work. I still cannot understand how the DNS in the router works Ok for UK TV cat...
