Re: Samsung J2 Prime smartphone from India bought in Spain

I have a Samsung J1 and cannot put Whatsapp (the biggest user of space) onto the SD card. Where it says move to card it is greyed out. My Lenovo phone will only put either photos/music files on the SD or apps, but not both. My Samsung is driving me mad (only 4GB) so I am going to have to buy another...

Re: Car insurance/ownership

The car is not in their name so they won't receive a tax demand for it as they are not yet the registered owner as far as they are aware. I will ask them next time I see them if they even provided the seller with their passport details etc. I don't think they will be on the padron which I had to pro...

Car insurance/ownership

A couple we know 'bought' an ancient car a year ago and still haven't got the paperwork for it, just a photocopy of the original documents. I'm not sure that the person that sold it was even the registered owner. He took them across the road to an insurance brokers and had a conversation with them i...

Re: What gender are you

.Is Whiskey and Wollie male or female?.. did you mean me? I have a female avatar so that is a clue. Mind you, my knickname came from a friend at work years ago and referred to a male Eastenders character .... she had strange pet names for all of us .... one was Tonk for some reason. Anyway it...

, but it used to allow me to put a bit of money aside for the inevitable add-on charges when I actually collected the vehicle. I use an independent insurance to cover any extra insurance, plus to cover the excess. Only about 40 pounds a year so well worth it if you need to hire a car a few times a ...

Re: Easyjet

Having booked a cruise for next summer I was tied by dates and when booking I hadn't really noticed that the return flight would be at the start of the UK summer holidays ....eek! So I was up early ready for the release of the flights at 6am UK time on Thursday. I didn't have any problem booking and...

Re: Linea Directa

I am just in the process of buying a car and as it will be a second car I was interested to see how it would work 're NCD. Liberty said the price would be the same whether my OH who currently insures our main car, or I insure it. There was no mention of NCD and as I haven't owned a car whilst abroad...

we really do not think we could cope with the UK, traffic, grey weather, grey faces, cramped lifestyle, rules and regulations, etc etc. Love the campo lifestyle but it really has been too hot AGAIN this summer! Perhaps in another 10 years we will be thinking of regressing back to UK, but I ...

Re: Dental implants

There are good and bad dentists everywhere. I was a dental nurse back in the 1970s/80s in England and some of the things I saw there going on made me very wary. It's made me very particular about my dental health and for a number of years I was lucky to have a dentist in the family that I used (but ...

Re: Problem downloading BBC podcasts

That happened to me last week. Nothing to do with my Smartdnsproxy as other iplayers work OK. In the end I downloaded it via the Avast safe browser. Just tried again today and the latest drama has downloaded OK but the previous one has this message: Access Denied You don't have permission to access ...

Re: Fuel prices

Malaga Car hire has a sales department with a 2016 1.2L Panda for sale. Our current car has had a major breakdown and has been in the garage for over 2 weeks so we are wondering whether we may need to replace that in the not too distant future, so that may change things.

Gordon that's a very personal decision that only you can make, so difficult to comment. I look forward to hearing what you have decided though! However ..... we did go to France for a few years but missed Spain too much and came back. We adapted OK to the language as we learnt at school and so had a...

USB adaptors

One of my Smartphones came with a USB adaptor for charging from the mains and I use this for charging my other phone and iPod. It says it is 5V-1A. I have just bought a new weather station that disappointingly needs to be plugged into the mains via a USB (our old one was battery powered). I am using...

Re: Spanish government planning action on owners of empty homes

There are loads of empty locales here. Every block has bricked up units below and ones we have seen for rent have been so expensive you could never run a business and make a profit from it. We have always said that they should be made into housing, but instead more blocks of pisos are now being buil...

Re: Fuel prices

Sid the Pinin was our first car here and it was an excellent off roader, particularly needed for us at the time as our track was long and very muddy. However it was only the 3 door version and we found it just too small. We then had a Focus estate car and actually managed with that for years, even w...

Re: Fuel prices

Thanks that's very interesting to know. A local car hie company has started to rent the Panda and we're considering renting one to see how it goes. Not sure if the most up to date series though. The fuel price is certainly something to consider when buying another car, and also for selling on in the...

Re: Ryanair industrial action July

It's not just big cities, but also market towns have a lot of anti social behaviour. I read the local press for where I used to live and it is a regular occurrence, not just the DM stuff. When I go out at night locally here I never see that sort of behaviour in the town centres.
