Google Internet Speed Test

Just out of interest. Google are bringing online an Internet Speed Test feature. In a Google search box type in: Speed Test. I used SmartyDNS' VPN to test various countries and is not yet available in Europe but is running for the USA, Australia and Singapore. I thought it might work for Canada but ...

Re: Smarty DNS

Hi Wicksey, Using Smarty's VPN gets around this. I don't know if you can download Smarty DNS onto a smart tv, I've never tried it.

Re: Smarty DNS

Hi Gerry Sign out of Smart DNS, top right three vertical dots. Choose VPN and sign in. There is a drop down menu of ten servers to choose from. When you have chosen, press the OFF button at the top and it usually connects after a few seconds. The button then turns blue and says ON. I think I slightl...

Re: remembering passwords

So printing my passwords on a sheet of paper and leaving them under my doormat isn't secure?

I'll put them under the plant pot instead!

Re: Amazon.es

If you use (or install) the Chrome browser, you can also install the Google Translate extension - (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/category/extensions?hl=en) I've tried this out and it seems to work very well. I put in a search for Plugs - thinking electrical and got: Babysbreath Adultos Silicon...

Re: Speed concerns for HDTV streaming

We have a maximum of 10Mbps download speed and use SmartyDNS too. Last night, for some reason, we couldn't get the BBC iPlayer using the DNS service so used the SmartyDNS VPN instead. We watched The Blue Planet II program without any problems.

Re: BUYING A TOWER WITH NO OPERATING SYSTEM

Can I open it myself wherever the small battery is! Yes, it is a simple process. The batteries I have changed in the past have be CR2032. You will need to see the battery type that is already there. Here is a YouTube video showing how it is done. https://goo.gl/6XaJt7 This video will be a different...

Re: BUYING A TOWER WITH NO OPERATING SYSTEM

I think you only need one of the USB receivers plugged in. If you buy the keyboard and mouse as a set, you only get one. Sid I just tried unplugging each of the wireless dongles and I do need them both plugged in. I expect this is because I bought the keyboard and mouse at different times. Some yea...

Re: BUYING A TOWER WITH NO OPERATING SYSTEM

Patricia With regard your limited number of USB sockets you could always use a hub. I use this one by Aukey and it works very well. https://goo.gl/6qM529 As for a keyboard and mouse I use a Logitech Keyboard. https://goo.gl/8LZKjB and Mouse. https://goo.gl/LGSwD5 I think the mouse is slightly smalle...

I quite agree, as stated above, we have a similar setup. I would like to have seen an option where the background could be dialled back or the voice raised to suit.
