We moved back to the UK as my son was struggling with the language in Spain and knew we had to choos...

Re: I Waited 6 Months for a Passport...R.I.P.Rasta.

I am so sorry to hear that Rasta has passed away. He had such a lovely life, all thanks to you though. His friend, little Jakey, is no longer with us either, (neither is Jemima who died in her sleep aged a Todd 18, but we have another Spanish Rescue dog, Kimba, whose Samoyed mother was locked in a C...

Re: Visiting CDS from Algave

Absolutely love it there! it takes us 2 hours to albufeira from here, and we're 3 hours from CDS so 5 hrs is about right. we've been told the toll motorway in portuga...

Re: Tics on dogs

Thanks for the replies, and thanks for the link Enrique. I have just purchased one of them tick twisters. will be much easier with that. Her body has lots of the small crabs on too, which is how they start out i presume, before their bellies get full of blood. She has a soft silky coat, footprint, s...

Tics on dogs

Our dog (unfortunately my other dog disappeared 8 days ago and hasnt been seen since  ), has gotten loads of tics on her coat. The crab types that get bigger by sucking the blood and the bodies growing huge and grey! The front-line we give regularly does not seem to be making any difference and...

Re: How much cash needed?

Doh ! One can use a Caxton Card to pay for services ( in Spain ) without extra charge, and of course draw euros from a cashpoint ( 2 liner ! ) anyroads ...which has absolutely nothing to do with my original question of how much cash needed to get through Spain, France and England now, does it? Why ...

I have a 3 year old american style Daewoo fridge freezer. i did post about the noises from it (banging) and then its failure to cool. Re: Spanish food prices v UK

After spending 5 weeks in the uk recently, i can honestly say we found it wayyyy cheaper there for food! The choice was also utterly outstanding! I spent 3 hours every week doing my Tesco shop on-line i was so impressed! I didnt like the price of wine tho, and only bought 3 botles the whole time we ...

Re: Safe foods for a pregnant visitor

i've had 2 babies here in Spain in the last 3 years, and my advice from the midwife was to ignore the 'english' can and cant haves and to live like the spanish whilst here. that meant: all types of chorizo was fine, cooked prawns were fine, tuna only once a week (due to amount of vit A in it) UHT mi...

Re: Things that have changed since you lived in Spain

Thanks Julie. And Anis. Your son and his families story sounds very similar to where we are at, so it is great to hear that after 2 years back they are still enjoying it and it is all they expected it to be. Thanks for sharing.

I agree with most of the above, but for me its not so much 'things that have changed since i lived in spain' but more so' how i have changed since living in spain' I moved aross at 29 years old and will be celebrating my 40th birthday next year! i have grown considerably and my wants and likes and p...

Re: 40 degrees?

i've been back in the uk for 5 weeks now and have loved the temperature. its not gone below 20degs on any of the days, even if there has been a bit of drizzle here and there. I brought jumpers galore and not even needed them. intermittant cloud cover makes it brilliant for the kids playing out. ther...
