Re: Android TV box recommendations

I had an android box, lasted a year or so and was very good but then starting going [frustratingly] wrong until one day it simply would not work (it was expensive as well). I replaced it with a Now TV Box (less than £20) and have to say it really is brilliant for BBC, ITV live and Ch4 Ch5 catchup an...

Re: Waterproofing flat concrete roof

a flat roof has been the bane of my life here. Our casita roof was the traditional wooden beam, bamboo, plastic membrane with Launa (not too sure of the spelling, but the clay like dirt that is placed on top)? This leaked like hell and I paid to have it replaced with a new waterproof membrane, seale...

Re: Amazon shopping

As El Cid says, totally depends on where you live. We used to have a shocking service from Seur, but they have improved tenfold recently. MRW used to be very good, but have gotten worse or late. A lot depends on the individual driver also. The MRW man changed and the quality of service declined with...

Yes that would be interesting. We don't have a landline. Hence using Jetnet

Re: Amazon shopping

One thing to note, if you sign up for the free 30 day Premium trial it will then automatically take the money from your account each month unless you go into your account settings and turn off the automatic payment feature Amazon Premium (not available in UK), as I said, only offers free delivery w...

Re: Uk TV

If they have internet anyway (which I assume (I know, assume nothing) most expats do?) and so then that is not taking into account when working out the sums. You left out the ongoing cost of your internet connection. Didn't you read my reply Gerry  I specifically left out the cost of internet...

Re: Uk TV

If they just want to watch the channels provided by Intelsat 907 then I would suggest that that is the best and cheapest way of watching UK TV. Cheers Gerry Yes frustrating when the OP does not come back to you on a subject you have taken the time to input on  It might be the best but is...

Re: Uk TV

I mentioned Intelsat 907 and IPTV. I have both. Didn't you read my reply? Cheers Gerry[/quote] I did, but it didn't really go into detail: For any other channels then you will need either TV via the internet with variable ongoing monthly costs and dependant on the internet signal you can get where ...

Re: Uk TV

Seems that the poster asked the question " what is the best and simplest route to go down to get UK TV when I move to Spain" and the only option being thrown up is Intelsat 907? No mention has been made of internet TV? I am presuming the OP will have internet (doesn't everyone?) Best thing...

Re: Amazon shopping

I would just add that on the Spanish site you can sign up for Amazom Premium, which gives free postage on any item (no minimum value) from Amazon (not necessarily from third parties) for about €15 a year and many items are next day delivery. Sid And you get a free 30 day trial on Amazon Premium. I ...

Re: National Health Scheme

I have not used the service, but when I looked at it some time ago when it was announced, it seems that it is an internal system. The doctor and the patient each have a cordless handset, both of which are connected to an interpreter at a central location. You speak English into your handset and it ...

Re: National Health Scheme

As for being entitled to a doctor who speaks English - try that in Granada province. Yeah good luck with that. We have had to rely on the telephone translation service a few times but have been mostly fortunate at the hospitals that the doctors we have seen speak English (it normally starts with th...

Re: UK Car Hire - ID requirements

I few years back I hired a car from Europcar Gatwick (as I had done several times before) using my Spanish driving licence with no problems whatsoever. In the queue next to me an expat lady, with a Spanish driving, who had not used Europcar before, was asked for proof of address in Spain (they actua...

Thanks Gerry,

Think I will swerve the ones stocked in any "Asian bazaar" type shop (I have looked locally and not seen any)?

I did look on Amazon ES and couldn't find any (plenty for the UK, France and USA though!) I shall look again

Re: Bathroom Shaver Socket Regulations

On the subject of sockets (not necessarily in the bathroom or for a shaver), does anyone know where these can be purchased in Spain?
