Re: 3% retention on house sale

When we sold our apartment the buyers solicitor held back 3% of the purchase price which we then claimed back from the tax man when we purchased another house in Spain. When we purchased the house in Spain, our solicitor held back 3% of the purchase price from the seller. Apparently they would not h...

Re: Spanish Reg car to the UK

Thanks Gus, interesting, but are we also given the Permiso de circulación as I understand this is the document (original only) we need to register it with DVLA? Seems that the simplest thing to do is not de-register in Spain, drive to the UK, register in the UK and then send documents back to Gestor...

Re: Car bike racks - laws

and according to the N332 (Spanish Police) website: “Can you advise if there is a limit to the number of bicycles you can carry on a rack located on the back of your car?” The load can protrude depending on if you can divide it or not between a 10% (divisible) or 15% (when the load is unable to be i...

Re: Spanish Reg car to the UK

Thanks to White Horse I now have most things in place for taking my Spanish Reg car back to the UK (I think the total cost will be about £800, incl headlights, speedo, MOT, taxes, CoC etc), so not too bad considering the cost of bringing a UK car to Spain! I have one question which remains unanswere...

Re: NowTV

Quick question re: NowTV packages. When you buy a package, does it activate immediately , or do they give you a code to enter when you want to activate it? I want to buy a 1 month Sports pass, but don't want to activate it before I am going to next watch, i.e. on Saturday. You have to activate it w...

Translator for Hospital Appointment - Motril

Re: Fastest internet without being tied in

Not to sure where you live, but noticed an advert the other day on our local Coviran wall for these people, although their area of coverage is pretty small and I have absolutely no idea of what they are like? http://alpujarrawireless.com/servicios They appear to offer a switch on/off holiday service...

Re: CENTRAL HEATING

Our woodburner (which is admittedly quite big!) has a tank on top which holds water, the log burner heats the water which is then pumped (using the normal cenral heating pump) around 4 x radiators - very effective system: https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-caOXG7X-d94/Vu0NTqX32HI/AAAAAAAAChQ/0GWc2gS...

Re: issues with an LHD on UK plates.

An EU coc is unique to each vehicle. You need the original not a copy. I was surprised at how easy it is to get one. My LHD Peuget Partner is going back to the UK with us later this year, contacted Peugeot UK about the COC, it arrived last week. Took just 5 days and £100. I did look on a ran...

They looked like mixed breeds and Galgo, couldn't see any Podencos.?, where did you locate this photo .? As you asked ...... The photo appeared on my Twitter feed (I run a Twitter account for a Spanish dog charity based in Granada). So to put some meat on the bones (so to speak), here are a few det...

Re: NowTV

Up until yesterday ITV live was not working on my box either. I asked in the NOW TV community what to do, they suggested changing the UK postcode (they said; Try TW7 5QD (sky corporate postcode) for example). This I did and don't know whether a fluke or not but it now works! To change postcode, go o...

That photo is appalling. No dog lover could excuse that. Re: Living in Spain

from what I could see in the photo the dogs seemed to be well looked after, and are not being kept in a dark warehouse How exactly did you deduce from that photo that "they are not being kept in a dark warehouse"? You (or I) have absolutely no idea where they are kept and in what conditio...

Re: Living in Spain

Most Spanish people are good and kind and caring people , and they are making a stand against animal cruelty, I appreciate this, but that some find what they do normal and acceptable is the worrying thing? An example. In our village there is a particularly large house lived in by a particularly wel...
