Just out of curiosity scampicat how much did your gestor charge you for doing this service and also what other costs were involved.Hope you don't mind me asking but if more people knew the average costs involved they may be encouraged to do the same as you. He initially quoted us 1500 euros, this i...

looks a little like sarcasm to me........I at least sympathise with you, and as you say, at least you made the effort - it is the ones that don't give a toss that get on most people's goats! Thank you - nice to know someone is willing to welcome a newbie to the forum. We both certainly 'gave a toss...

During this time we were driving round with no tax, Spanish ITV, Spanish insurance and panicking every time we saw the Guardia. There is absolutley no excuse for driving around with no tax or insurance - period - end of story. You should have hired a car during the process. It had valid insurance. ...

Please do not judge all who drive British-plated vehicles the same. We gave the documents for our car to a gestor to do as we are a law-abiding couple and wanted the car to be legal. They got the ficha tecnica wrong three times. (It's a Seat!). They kept asking for paperwork they didn't need (i.e. a...

I did know about the large dish but I wasn't sure what box to get as everyone else I know has bought a Sky box with them from the UK. Our sustem at the moment only cost 90 euros from Ldl; it is a European system and has tons of European channels, but only receives Sky News, BBC World, a Business pro...

Thanks for all your help. I'm so confused over this. I had a system quoted at 500 euros supplied and installed. Then a friend told me all I had to do was buy a £10 freeview box from Tesco. Then someone else told me I only needed a small dish (I already have an 80cm one with theSpanish Freeview bocx ...

We live in a small pueblo blanco in the mountains. Although it has only a permanent population of 400, it has bars, a shop, a panaderia, doctor, post office and banking facilities and a school that the children can attend until they are 13. The land is still worked with mules and traditional activit...

Freeview Box?

We are thinking of getting a Freeview Box from the UK and buying the big dish which we have been told will enable it to work (never had Sky).

I know nothing about satellite TV. Will this set-up be affected by the above?

Thanks

I do understand why you want FACTS. We were told so many diffeent things by so many different people, and were quoted charges of up to 3000 euros. Our own gestor kept asking for documents he didn't need and initially quoted us E1500 (he only charged us 500 euros in the end). It wasan incredibly stre...

We have recently matriculated a nine-year -old Seat Alhambra.

We had to buy new lights and pay for the ITV (can't remember how much that was).

THe gestor did the rest, he took AGES but only charged us 500 euros.

Hi, this is my first post. We bought our little house four years ago from a Spaniard via an agent. We did not lie about our budget (tiny, but no mortgage required). The agent told us at the start what her fee was. She arranged to show us three houses, we bought the second. Five days from start to fi...
