Re: Potentia of electricity

We did exactly what Sid said above. Dropped from 13.5 three phase to 9.5 single. Big savings on the leccy and had no problems with usage.

Re: Electronic components - Malaga

I've tried to use planet electronico in the past but find their site a little frustrating, some types of components just don't have enough information and if you ask they don't understand the question! I'm used to using mainly Farnell, they have a Spanish wing that deliver next day. There is also Am...

Re: Hammerite paint in Spain

We've found Hammerite to be superior to Titan, especially on the most sun exposed areas. Titan has flaked and needed attention after several years whereas Hammerite has lasted twice as long. The only time Hammerite failed us was when spraying it on, diluted with the appropriate dissolvent by the rec...

Re: ITV cautionary tale

Another one to be careful of, if your spare tyre is mounted on the outside of the vehicle without a cover. Again my car had just passed its ITV. I found I had a slow puncture on a rear wheel so decided to pop on the spare (hitherto unused) to get me to the tyre centre. About 500m down the road the t...

Re: White goods and electrical equipment

For lower power items that you may normally plug into trailing sockets, bring your UK trailing sockets with you. Pop on a Spanish plug and use your items as you did in the UK. For my electrical tools I changed to Spanish plugs, most have since died and been replaced with those available here in Spai...

There is also the possibility of either wired active external speakers (or bluetooth as already suggested) or an external portable headphone amplifier. There are loads of these on the market that make the output from any portable device much better and louder. Some very cheap and good ones are made ...

Re: Android phone.

Apart from the possibility of the source of the game came from there are also some nasties on facebook amoungst the advertiments. Most of these you can accidentally click on, meaning to swipe past, click back and all is OK. However, some will sign you up automatically for receiving text messages/sen...

Try;

Start > Control panel > Flash Player > Advanced

Delete all "Site Data and Settings".

See if that does it for you.

Definitely need more information there. Most importantly the method/type of connection that is getting YT onto your TV, models of equipment involved. I'm guessing "then a little square in the corner of the screen" means your TV has P icture- I n_ P icture, allowing you to watch one input i...

Re: Free standing air con units

Two ideas;

Fit a vent to a wall that will "receive" the exhaust tube end or make a panel that will recieve the hose end and temporarily fit and fill the gap of a partially open window (assuming sliding).

Re: Android tablet

My wife's tablet had this happen. The first thing to try is to let the tab run down to nearly nothing, say <5%. Switch the tab completely off, recharge on a mains connected lead until 100%. Then switch back on. This worked for us, apparently the android battery measuring service sometimes loses the ...

Re: Water supply hardware, accountability?

Hi cb, I understand what you are saying and personaly would agree under UK thinking. It seems logical that in the case of a leak before the meter, thus unmeasureable, that it would be the water companies domian. However, this is Spain. It would seem, especially with private water co.s, that their re...

Re: Water supply hardware, accountability?

....just been trawling some Spanish forums on the subject (admittedly my Spanish is far from perfect) that are agreeing that "llave de paso" is the end users responsibility. In the case of a block of flats all the valves are the responsibility of the building's community until the last one...

Re: Water supply hardware, accountability?

Well I tried but the office backed their engineer, unsurprisingly.

Their excuse was that the valve in question is the last to supply the building and is, therefore, the "llave de paso" which they claim is my responsibility.

Water supply hardware, accountability?

I may be wrong here in my English thinking not matching that of Spain but; We had our private water supply company come around (Aqualia) wanting to change the water meter, on the "engineers" attempt to do so he said our shut off valve, immediately before the meter (valve and meter located ...
