Re: Gas bottle hoses & regulators

That's how they do the check out here- coild be tragic
Our last 5 year check was 60 euros
Even if you change your own regulators and tubing, you still need to get the 5 year certificate, as your insurance company will ask for it should there be damage due to gas

Re: Digitalisation of details

The banks have had 5 years to do this, and have panicked at the last minute Twice I asked Santander if they needed my details, and was told NO, even though I told them I had a new passport! A neighbour said he had had the same experience, but went back again only to be told YES, we do need them. So ...

Re: Tax Form 720 Asset declaration

I thought the statute of limitations was abolished in regard to the 720, so it would go back further than
2010
Apparently the EU is doing something about the issue of draconian fines

Re: Best Spanish Insurance Company for Buildings and Content

I'm with Liberty Seguros, and they paid a claim, promptly and no quibble
Other insurance companies couldn't match their premiums unless an excess was applied.
Liberty Seguros has no excess on the policy ( unless you ask for one)

Re: Tax Form 720 Asset declaration

If Ben Ten arrived last May then he should have submitted the 720 before March 31st this year for the year 2014.

Re: Bricks and mortar versus park home?

People buy because they will then have an asset, something to fall back on if necessary, if money is needed.
Unfortunately, those who bought in Spain a few years ago now often have something of a millstone
Having said that, I wouldnt rent long term

I think. It's 1,500 euros
But if you wait till next year won't the tax office fine you anyway for not submitting the year before?

Re: Inheritance Tax

Surely the state allowance is applicable as well as the regional allowance? If non residents are to be treated the same as residents, then there needs to be clarity about the 5 year thing. The most logical way is to say that both residents and non residents must have OWNED the property for 5 years i...

Re: Inheritance Tax

With the recent legislation about not discriminating between residents and non residents in regard to regional allowances for IHT, what is happening about the requirement for beneficiaries to have lived for 5 years in the region. Obviously a non resident won't have lived there for 5 years, so will t...

Re: Inheritance Tax

Is the inheritance from the UK? If so how can Andalucian allowances apply? Some say that if the inheritance is over the threshold you pay IHT on the whole lot, some say you pay a reduced amount on the excess. Who is right it would be very mean to have to pay on the whole lot if its just over the thr...

Re: Tax Form 720 Asset declaration

Do you not read expat press or listen to the radio? Even if you don't do this your accountant should know about it. In Spain, no one comes to you with a handy check list So many changes in rules in Spain since we've been here , it is hard to keep up and informed, but the only way we have of doing th...

Re: Tax Form 720 Asset declaration

Gerry, there are numerous forums which show the categories of assets which apply to the 720, so there should be no confusion as to what it is. Since it began in 2012 we have seen the subject discussed in great length on this forum, which should clear up any questions. It is a declaration of your ass...

Re: Tax Form 720 Asset declaration

There has been so much publicity about the 720, that it beggars belief that people still haven't heard of it. Any properly qualified accountant who doesn't know about it shouldn't be in business I would sack your gestor, and get someone who knows what they're doing Generally the tax office doesn't t...

Re: Spanish Tax Office

It amazes me that this is not pointed out to people at the time of purchase. Surely the Spanish Government should ensure this is part of the whole process. anyroads No one will come to you with information, you have to seek it yourself, and asking six different experts will bring forth six differen...
