Re: iPhone, Apple Account etc.

Miro, make sure you have updated the software in the iphone. The latest software has increased battery life enormously.

Re: iPhone, Apple Account etc.

I bought OH his ipad about a year ago, thinking the novelty would soon wear off. I was wrong! He watches films on the plane on our frequent flights. He has it on his knee at night (much better than trying to balance a laptop!) half watching tv and googling away on subjects of interest. Best present ...

Re: iPhone, Apple Account etc.

Sid is right. The only nuisance with our ipad is that I have to download films in the UK. Not a problem for us as we are back and forth frequently. Our iphones are both on contract in the UK as well, so I sync them all to my computer in the UK. It must be a problem over here if you don't want anythi...

Re: Veg gardening

We planted our plantlets of cauliflower and cabbage last october and have started to eat them this month. The peas were planted in January but are a bit slow due to the bad weather just after planting. I don't think this drought is helping anything! We are also eating the broad beans now, but haven'...

Re: Ants, ants and more ants

We use the spray cans of "Zum" as I don't like putting powder down because of the animals. Just be careful not to spray it on tender leaves of plants. Spray all round the edge of the house and round the trunks of trees and shrubs and they won't go near there for weeks. I put cat food on ou...

Re: Endesa "Tarifa Tranquilidad"

I tried to get e-bills as we have no post box and bills taken by DD. I went to endesa office and got a copy of my last bill. Filled out the form online and waited for e-mail confirmation. Eventually got an e-mail from them saying I had put the wrong invoice number and as requested gave them the righ...

I can't see what she is complaining about. No leaves in the winter and I would think in the summer she would be grateful of a bit of shade.

Re: Rescued bat - what next?

A few months ago we had just climbed into bed when something started flying round the bedroom. I thought it was a bird at first, but it was a bat. OH managed to catch it and we put it in the stable on the land. It was gone the next day so must have been ok,

Re: Cold weather

I would just leave it alone and see what happens. In that really bad frost a few years ago most of the plants in my garden looked dead but we lost very little. We are coming back to Spain tomorrow and I am dreading seeing my garden!!

Re: Internet on the road...

The iphone 3GS has got a normal size sim. I have just got my upgrade in the UK to 4S and have had to have a smaller sim. They just transferred everything over to it in the shop. I gather Nokia are starting to use these smaller simcards now as well.

Re: Colacao

We usually use the Paladin chocolate powder. 2/3milk and 1/3 water. Heat in a saucepan and whisk. I got a little aerolatte whisk in Lakeland when I was in the UK that you can use in a cup or small saucepan and this makes it really smooth.

Re: Portable Gas Fire

I think dust is often the problem when the fire hasn't been used in a while. I get the electric pool bed inflator and blow it out which seems to work well.

Re: Sat Nav problems

An update for all you helpful people. Eventually got life back into tomtom and a map so we took it for a ride in the car and it seems to be working fine now. Now I will do a back up of the new maps straight to the computer before anything else happens. I just wish these things were not so temperamen...

The best solution is if Mowser is so fond of Henrietta she ought to go and live with him and then you can have a few new hens for eggs.

Re: Sat Nav problems

Well I have made a bit of progress. After more googling I pressed the reset button for 15secs and then kept it pressed while I pressed "on" button. Kept both pressed for a good minute and then let go of reset button. Kept on button pressed and it came to life. Tried connecting to computer ...

Re: Sat Nav problems

Thanks Beach - what is so annoying is that it started to work via computer and then just stopped.
So now I think I will have to buy him a new one but after this am a bit wary of Tomtom.

Re: Sat Nav problems

It's the 910 Beach. We have reset it several times before without a problem so I think I am doing it correctly. It does freeze on odd occasions but the reset button usually works and failing that if I connect it to Tom Tom Home it sorts it out, This time though it won't switch on at all.
