Re: El Ranchito horse show Torremolinos

Thanks Miro. This is the website I found but their online bookings only go to mid May so I suppose I will just have to wait a bit and try again. I tried an email to them but got no answer.

Re: El Ranchito horse show Torremolinos

Thanks Scott. I had a feeling it was directed at the tourist. My spanish is not brilliant so it might be easier to go up there and see them. There is a travel agency where you can book online but they only have dates up to mid May at the moment and I wanted to get something booked before my trip bac...

El Ranchito horse show Torremolinos

Can anyone tell me where I buy tickets for this show. I e-mailed an online ticket agency but got no reply. We have got visitors in June and I want to book some tickets.

Hope someone can point me in the right direction.

Re: Sky TV

Hi Suenos I am surprised by what you say about freesat. As the channels all come from the same satellite I find it hard to understand why one box would pick them up and not another. From what I have read on various forums the humax boxes are very good for fringe areas. The main benefit is having the...

Re: Sky TV

Kelly you mentioned my favourite subject at the moment. We had the basic package installed over here 7 years ago. An Irish gentleman, who I will not name. They messed up getting the card registered even though I brought it from the UK. I ended up having to do it from the UK. They kept asking me if i...

Re: Mercadona

We lost our meat counter some time ago. As Beachcomber says they didn't learn much at charm school. I always joke that I need to stand by the wall behind the tills to catch my shopping as it hurtles past. Disappointing to hear that so many products going. I find I shop there less and less. They have...

Re: I need a climber that isn't thirsty

I think if you want to cover a back fence permanently then a jasmine or a honeysuckle might be better. They are pretty tough and need little water when established. The honeysuckle will cover the fence in no time.

Re: Lemon or Fig Tree?

I think anything you plant in a pot would stay much smaller as not so much room for the roots to grow. It sounds like a good idea having it on the patio. We have just planted a mandarin orange in a pot on the patio so see how it does. Anyway if you get drunk on all those V&T's you won't have far...

Re: Lemon or Fig Tree?

Neither of these need much looking after once they are established. If you like figs then the green ones are lovely. A fig tree will probably need less pruning. We have got 3 huge old lemon trees and seem to be forever pruning them into shape. If you don't like figs then go for the lemon. At least t...

Re: I need a climber that isn't thirsty

I think the yellow leaves are probably just a reaction to being moved. Mine is as tough as old boots, gets hardly any water and just grows and grows. You will have a job to kill it! We lost all the leaves in the frost but it is shooting off like mad now. We just lost the tips of it. It grows so fast...

Re: How is your veg growing?

My friend used to come round with a big sweetie jar after it rained and collect the snails from my garden for her spanish neighbour. It used to make me feel quite ill. My tomatoes are not very big yet as I grew them from seed, but it's amazing how quick they grow once they get going. Same with the c...

Re: Strange gossamer like pest on Hibiscus

Reading this topic I think this must have been what I had on one of my hibiscus last year. I seem to remember spraying it with soapy water (fairy liquid). I really soaked it and have not had a problem since. The leaves were getting brown spots on them and the plant didn't look healthy. It is fine no...

Re: Web pages now appear in Spanish

I find it most annoying. I set up my computer in the UK and the itunes music store is in English. I set up my OH's over here and it has come up in spanish. I use Google UK to search and get more pages in English that way.

Jool, I wish more people would show their location in their details. It is interesting to know where they are living.

Re: Granite worktop drainers

We had a new kitchen about 18 months ago and had silestone worktops. We had the drain grooves cut both sides of the sink and they have been fine. I have one of those soft mats on one side which tends to hold water underneath it, but does stop breakages!! and sometimes I have to use a bit of calc rem...

Re: How is your veg growing?

Martin, the trees are not that close. just in the right spot to cast a bit of shade hopefully. if we have a problem we can always move veggie plot over a bit. But there is quite a wide path bewtwwen them and the plot.
