water supply cuts, had any yet

Wow, isn't Cyprus organized. Here you've got a water cut if nothing comes out of the taps lol.
In our case it usually happens on a Sunday when the water supply tank runs dry if too many weekenders have come to their 2nd houses for a bit of campo fun :D

Re: 1st summer here

Welcome Toffeeboy All suggestions for relief are good but, if you do get bitten, the only really brilliant remedy I have come across is Anthisan cream. It is amazing and stops itching at once. I haven't found anything to touch it in Spain but you can buy it in Gibraltar; or get friends to send it out...

Guess what! Yesterday two men and a JCB arrived on our track to repair a huge gouge which was caused by an oversize load driving past about 6 months ago and then, today, the Municipal dead goat recovery lorry arrived and removed the festering goat. It just goes to show that, in Spain, be it coast or...

Sorry, Peteroldracer; these boxes are meant for red wine. They keep the wine at between 16 and 18 degrees, which is the room temperature that red wine should be served at; not the room temp of up to 25 degrees we get here. Buy one, try one, you will love it. :D

Being a fan of the red wine sundowner I have tired, in the past, of drinking 'mulled wine' due to the hot Spanish summer. Not any more. A small outlay in Aldi purchased a red wine cooler. What joy. Wine at the right temp whenever you want it  Not only that but try putting your chocolate bars in...

car tax

You are so right Beachcomber. We bought a vehicle when we were new and green to Spanish ways and did not get the tax situation checked. We just dutifully registered it at our Town Hall and promptly got a bill for 300euros. The so and so who sold it to us had never paid any tax on it at all :x

No one seems to send out bills in Spain. We racked up over 2,000 euros in bills from our local builders merchants due to a bit of bad bookkeeping on my part but they still went on selling us things on credit. I wonder how big the bill might have got

99 percent of the time it is the campo close to town for me. We are only 3 ks from our nearest town which has almost everything you could wish for. Unfortunately the 1 percent of the time when I do not like it is when, as now, there is a festering dead goat 100 yards from the end of our drive. Ugh!!

car tax

I have not yet received the car tax bills from the Town hall ( 2 months overdue). Please tell me that others are having the same problem and it is not just that the Town Hall has lost my postal address again  The last time that happened it took 2 years to sort out!
