Re: Why Do People Pack Up and Leave Their Family To live In Spain ?

Hola I moved to Spain because I could! I worked out that the only reason I went to work was to have sufficient money to retire - but if I retired to Spain, I wouldn't have to work for the next eight years (but would have to support myself) - I estimated I would need £1,000 per month and would need a...

Re: How to have UK phone number

Hola
There are companies that will give you a very cheap UK phone number that you carry around with you; it looks like a landline number to anyone ringing it but the costs are equal to internet calls as in cheap. Try any Wimax suppier or local internet company.

Re: Connecting to utilities etc after buying an apartment in Marbella

Hola

I know a friend's flat in Marbella had utilities in other peoples names - for arguments sake, to transfer the electric may well mean you need a new boletin - which could cost 500€ plus any work needed.

Re: Use of a Generator during Power Cuts

I can't help but smile . Here we are doing what we expats do so well - coming up with sticking plaster solutions to problems. Isn't there a way to lobby the power companies to fix whatever causes so many of these outages? Hola In a word - "NO" - stealing electricity is a popular pastime -...

Hola

The "problem" as I see it is knowing when to switchback to normal mains if you are on the generator.

Re: wi fi

Hola
there is tethering or a portable Wi-Fi hotspot - I've used both and use tethering rather than the hotspot for security reasons - I have an exceptionally high allowance of 35Gb a month - when used up it goes to a slower speed

If you have an IPTV streaming box, then you don't need a smart TV - the IPTV box does everything that a smart TV does

The simplest way is to ask at your ITV station; they normally know of the correctly certified engineers

Re: Registering at the Town Hall?

Hola If you are intending to live in Spain full time then you shouldn't sign on the padron until you actually move to Spain full time. For just one example, there is no tax on importing your car if you do so within 60 days of signing on the padron. There are advantages in having been on the padron f...

Hola
If the car has not been yours for a year then there is an additional first registration tax (commonly called import tax) - you are allowed to bring goods and chattels without paying a tax - but you must have owned for one year
