Not going back quite as far as your ancestors, but an interesting site nonetheless.

Its an ongoing worldwide database of old school photographs collected over many years...

Give it a try and see if you are listed:

Poor reception of Sky News

I am unable to watch Sky News at certain times of the day, mainly in the mornings. The signal strength is always between 96 and 100 per cent on this channel, yet the picture and sound often break up, whereas channels with a signal strength of only 57% are perfectly watchable. The dish is aligned cor...

Mike, You have almost painted a picture of everyday life up here in the Alpujarras in one paragraph. I just have to correct you on a couple of points though. The set meal costs 8 Euros and the British are not armed with Micheal Thomas CD's, but with knives, with which they stab each other in the bac...

I have come across this problem before. They don't generally vent the drains here (no stack pipe) so when you flush one of the other toilets it is possible that a vacum is being created within the pipework, which is sucking the water from the trap of the toilet you are having the problem with. I got...

Dial up problems

I have a dial up internet connection provided by Telefonica.Net. via a wired landline. The problem is, on occasions, it cut out every few minutes which is very annoying! It seems to be an intermittent problem. It can be fine for a couple of weeks and then starts cutting out again. Are there any sett...

It happens a lot and the delivery firms are all much the same.

I had a delivery to the value of 2000 pounds left at a cortijo 5 kms away because the driver couldn't be bothered to find my address.

Luckily the people that signed for the package were known to me, but it could have been anyone.

I would be interested to hear what evidence you have that the housing market is picking up. I have a house on the market at the moment and have had more viewings in the past 2 months than in the previous 2 years. Estate Agents in the area are speaking of renewed interest with increased sales and ar...

Something else to bear in mind are the self employed social security payments you will have to make regardless of whether you are making any money or not.

I read in the paper that they are due to go up by 30 Euros a month.
