[Still off thread, but the smoking ban in the Netherlands has been partially lifted. If you are the owner of a bar and it is under 70m2, you may allow smoking on the premises. (This news was welcomed by Beagles)[/quote] If this is true, then why don't all bar owners in the EU claim parity with their...

Re: Why cant we reserve a seat?

It's about the best thing on Easy Jet and Ryan Air...You board,You look for an empty seat and you sit in it. nothing complicated about that. Which is great for avoiding the overweight monsters who take up "your Space" with their "overhang" It would rile me to pay for a seat and ...

Re: Planning permision

The point of the post was if I were to have an internal staircase built to access a roof terrace, there would have to be a small building built on the terrace with a door from where I would step out onto the terrace. I imagine about 2 metres high x 2m deep x 3m wide. So, do we think planning permisi...

Planning permision

Is planning permision required for all structures? In the uk a 70 cubic metre structure/extension is allowed without planning permision. Is there an "up to" size in Spain where no permision is needed?. I know that a licencia de obra is required to f*rt so it's purely on the planning aspect...

Re: RYANAIR EXCESS LUGGAGE Charges

Just flew back from malaga on saturday with Ryanair. It was hillarious watching these people trying in vain to squash their "hand luggage" into the measuring tray.loads of people had to decant from their bag and leave stuff behind. 2 couples had to pay the excess and 1 couple had to leave ...

Re: Long life bulbs are rubbish

Don't know what all the fuss is about. We moved to our current uk house in 1992 and the bulb in the bathroom is the original. On saying that, it's been burst since 1993 :D
Beat the eu rap now. Buy up all the tar stick torches and put them on the wall-heats the house up a treat.

Re: Pergola covering

Thanks to all . It's corrugated sheets then. Mowser-yer pergola will look like a gypos' hut with the corrugated steel. Also will sound like a steel band during a tromba. Our neighbour has wooden slats on top of his pergola and exterior tiles on top of them. Oh, and a stone eagle is perched on top w...

Re: If Spain still had the pesata.......

in perspective, the 3 million unemployed in Spain is significantly less than the U.K.
In total, there are 5 million people of working age in the U.K. claiming a variety of benefits and don't work. and we are a much smaller country than Spain.
Outlook is a bit bleak here too.

Re: Malaga Airport Smoking Room

Sleepily, I wake from my slumbers, shuffle off to the loo, go downstairs and make a brew. Then I climb the stairs excitedly and pass one to my dear wife lying in bed. I open the door onto our breakfasting terrace with my heart beating in anticipation. Sitting down , I look out at the views down over...

Re: RENFE website

We only used the renfe site once and to the best of my recollection, we used visa (credit card). Likewise it is always a visa card for car hire at the airport they ask for. Maybe that's the problem with your booking. Can't remember but when it comes to the payment details on the renfe site, does it ...
