Re: Correcting Modelo 100 tax return after submission

I'm pretty sure I've got it right and it does mean a refund. The help notes and other useful sites (Rankia is a good one) definitely distinguish between errors in your favour and errors in theirs, thus the importance of translating that word correctly. I'll check with the natives in the household wh...

Re: Correcting Modelo 100 tax return after submission

The problem is that I can't find questions on PADRE for people who have overpaid in error - only for people who have underpaid. I am trying to find out if I can resubmit (and which boxes to tick) or whether the rules require me to follow a different procedure eg. writing a letter.

Re: Correcting Modelo 100 tax return after submission

cantidad a devolver inferior a la resultante de la declaración originaria = smaller refund than on the original declaration "cantidad a ingresar" would be a smaller tax payment In my case, the original return had me paying 120 euros and the (still imaginary) new one would give me an 80 eur...

Re: Correcting Modelo 100 tax return after submission

...lower figure for tax refund surely? I'm not sure about this, but my half-understood research elsewhere suggests that you can only use PADRE if the new declaration gives you a bigger bill. If, as in my case, the opposite is true I think I have to write a letter. I'm hoping I'm wrong.

Correcting Modelo 100 tax return after submission

My UK bank managed to overstate the interest I earned in 2013. I discovered this days after submitting my Spanish tax return. I now have the corrected figures which would result in me paying about 200 euros less tax and I'm not sure how to fill out a new declaration. I think I need to tick box 120 &...

Re: Anyone else prevented from voting?

I would fall foul of 2 or 5 years, but the bit that really gets my goat is that they didn't try to contact me. They have my address and phone number. Can we say for sure that the same rules require them to check before deleting names? Also, is the town hall right that it's the INE that does it, or i...

Re: Anyone else prevented from voting?

Well no one has ever written to me. The town hall said that the rule is now two years and that it's the fault of INE in Malaga for cutting me off. I'm not sure who gets the blame for not telling me about it. To reregister they said they couldn't just tick the box that says "all details unchange...

Re: Anyone else prevented from voting?

The town hall should have checked that you still live here before removing you from the list. Given that the wife is still on the list, this is particularly true. I've tweeted the mayor to see what he thinks. As a local politician he should be quite concerned to see 1000 voters disappear- unless he...

My point is that the list has been seriously pruned!

Anyone else prevented from voting?

I registered more than seven years ago and have voted several times since. Despite no change of address in that time my (Spanish) wife was allowed to vote, but I was told I should have reregistered every two years. I'm assuming that it's illegal to make laws that affect EU citizens and not the local...

Re: Car hire - again!

Go straight into the underground carpark and pick up the car from the office that usually only handles returns.

I do mean Skyscanner. They do flights, cars and hotels. On this site at least, you can say that you are a walk - in customer.

Re: Car hire - again!

Two top tips: 1- Book as a walk-in customer. Then you can pick up your car directly from the office in the underground carpark where there is rarely a queue. If you give them flight details you have to queue at the office in the terminal with all the rabble. 2-Use Skyscanner etc to find the cheapest...

As well as my phonecall recording we can use this thread as dated proof of our efforts to do the thing properly.

Re: Sorry-another 720....

The form has actually changed during the period it has been available for submission. The latest (and clearest) version now has the option in Origen de Bien for "item already declared last year". There are other options scattered around for you to give details of closed accounts. They plai...

Re: Sorry-another 720....

Sorry, that's confusing. I confirm that my last message is what they told me. It differs slightly from what you have been told. Account closures definitely have to be included.

Re: Sorry-another 720....

No. You have to declare all elements of a changed asset class, but not those of an unchanged class.

Re: Sorry-another 720....

And the person on the Hacienda helpline was possibly suffering from the Spanish habit of speaking with utmost certainty when actually not having a ******* clue. Still, at least I've got the recording for when they come to drag me off to the cells tomorrow morning.

Re: Sorry-another 720....

Indeed. Isn't is remarkable that we are having to discuss this on the final day for submissions? It does just show how badly implemented this has been.

Re: Sorry-another 720....

So you think I should follow your accountant's advice and ignore Hacienda?
Anyway, if they look at last year's declaration plus this year's they have all the information.
