Improving your Spanish.

I don't live in Spain, but I visit from time to time. I was never much good at languages at school, but became interested when we bought a holiday home. We haven't got it now, and just rent when we come. I like to try and speak Spanish and I took my GCSE a few years ago. I don't really visit enough ...

Re: Flamenco in Sevilla in August

See if there is a Pena Flamenca there

Pena Flamenca is a club for flamenco aficionados and not aimed at the tourist market.

However anyone can go in. They have them all over the word. There's one in Estepona which I have been to a few times and it was great. Cheap to get in.

High rate phone numbers to Spain from UK

I had reason to ring a transfer company in Malaga to sort out a query. I made six calls over a 10 day period.

I've had my phone bill and it turns out I was charged over £1.00 per minute.

Does anyone know which prefixes incur high charges like these

Thanks

Re: wiring a ceiling fan - help

We we had a holiday home in Spain, our next door neighbour bought a ceiling fan/light. It had three wires. He took the old light, which had two wires down and twisted them to to two of the ones on the fan, covering them with insulation tape. It worked but I told he it needed earthing ( a lot of it w...

Re: Theft from car.

Good idea taking out the stickers. I wouldn't bother putting them back. Oh wait a minute... They'll charge you 200 Euros damage.

Re: Theft from car.

I don't know the exact derails. We were at a party and alcohol was flowing. I don't know size of cases or where they were. Perhaps, after breaking a window, the scumbags were able to open a door. Some cars have a boot release handle inside the passenger compartment. Bottom line.... The cases went. I...

Theft from car.

Was at a family function this weekend. One of the guests told me this. They landed at Gib, picked up the hire car and headed off to Sotogrande. Before they got to their rental, they stopped somewhere to pick up some groceries. When they got back to the car the window had been smashed and their cases...

Thanks for the further Input.

Spanish..... Yes I know I can block people from reading my stuff but that didn't stop them seeing what our mutual friend posted.
I've asked the mutual friend to kindly refrain from posting anything about me.

Re: Facebook question

Thanks Enrique.
My setting has been friends right from the start.

My problem is that someone is learning about my life, thru stuff I put on FB, and I don't want them to.
It could be that one of my FB friends is feeding them the info and there's nothing I can do about that

I'm an obsessive planner and do a lot of research on here and ta.

People are so helpful, so I like to put a bit back. I meant to check if you were in San Ped at the same time but forgot..

Re: Use of a Generator during Power Cuts

I don't know anything about generators, but I believe there is an issue regarding ventilation when one is running.
When we had those floods in Worcester a few years ago, two men were using a generator to power a pump to pump out a basement. They were overcome by fumes and died.
