Lunar eclipse july 27th

Postby olive » Sun Jul 08, 2018 8:30 pm

Heads up on next lunar eclipse. Should be a good spectacle in Southern Europe on night of July 27th/28th.

Set-to last a whopping hour and 43 minutes, the blood moon willbe the longest eclipse of the21stcentury.

Show starts about 10 p.m. Spanish time.

Hopefully our experts will add more info

Not an expert, but simply adding a note for people to post pictures of it if they view it! :)

Just below the moon tonight there will be a red star, that is Mars which in coincidence is at it's closest approach and readily visible by the naked eye.

Spectacular, especially as the eclipse started to clear, leaving most of the moon red, with a white crescent to the left.
And all in 'slow motion', too, which makes a change.

First ...Olive..Thank you for allowing the hi-jack of your thread.

Also Thank You everyone for your kind comments, Much Appreciated...!!
And good to hear that other members are enjoying happy married lives in Spain and may it continue for many more years...

And back to the Lunar Eclipse, brilliant...and we really enjoyed our evening and it was good of the moon to arrange such a spectacle to help us celebrate our anniversary !!!!
On our way back home I could still see a red haze....but that was probably down to the extra glasses of vino tinto that I had consumed .

And may we wish everyone a Great Weekend.....wherever you are ....

Regards,
Gordon & Pauline...xx

We enjoyed a good sighting of that blood moon/eclipse/Mars and a stunning view of an unexpected shooting star!
