Turkey in Easyjet hand luggage?

Postby costacab » Sun Nov 15, 2009 9:42 pm

My mum is coming over for Christmas and thought it would ber nice to bring us an M&S freshTurkey and a few other bits and pieces. Does anyone know if you can do this in hand luggage or, if not, would it be ok in the hold?

Its not really going to be that fresh by the time it arrives in the oven. How many temperature changes will the bird have gone thru?
I wouldn't be that keen to eat it, might ruin Christmas with the barfs

I see you are in Mijas, in which case you can buy good fresh turkeys from either the Scottish Butcher in Fuengirola or the Irish one in Mijas Costa, and quality sausages to make your own stuffing :D

Hi costacab,
If you live in the "Real Spain" you will have them running around fresh in the fields around your Finca, I have to watch my dogs or I will be getting an early Christmas bird or two :D

We are having a christmas this weekend, and the scottish butcher has got us a turkey and a nice duck, the turkey will be fresh, not sure about the duck, but he has supplied us with our birds for the last ten years, and have allways been brill.

My favourite subjects food and M & S :D Fresh turkeys start from 25 pounds - don´t remember paying that much for Xmas dinner, but have been out of the UK for nearly 7 years. We had the dinner for 2 for 10 pounds the other night (cost me 8 pounds with my discount). Beef roulades stuffed with spinach and ricotta in tomato salsa, roasted veg, scrummy choc pudding and bottle of chardonnay :P Can´t beat them so get your mum to stuff a turkey in her suitcase

British birds are much tastier than Spanish ones!

Hi,

"British birds are much tastier than Spanish ones!"

I think you have a saying.... " a bird in hand is better than two in the bush"

If in Spain go for a Spanish one . 8)

One year we got a frozen turkey from the supermarket at la canada and when it thawed out it was green inside.
we searched high and low, christmas Eve and got one from the old iceland on the Mijas rd.
i wouldn't chance bringing a frozen one out,one from the butchers is the way to go
