Spanish ones are about 37.50, and I think UK ones are about 2.50 more.

Why not just roll your own?
You can easily get 200 cigs out of 2 x 50g packs of Golden Virginia for €6.25 each and they won't have all the horrible additives they put in ready-made ones

If you cough your way through a carton a week that would cost you around 2200€ a year, equal to a decent second-hand car including servicing and road tax.......in 5 years it would be the same as a brand new motor, or for the less selfish, you could have funded food and education for a child in a third world country - and probably saved yourself the nuisance of a heart attack, lung cancer, emphysema, puffing and blowing after a short walk, impotence....

Do you do that? You were greetin' "hard up" last year.

ps ... if all UK smokers gave up tomorrow, income tax would have to be raised about 3p in the pound.

They are a shocking waste of money but funding a child in the third world is seeing as they only get about 3p in the pound of your money. The rest of it will support a highly paid charity worker to sit in a luxury office doing b***** all!

If that's what you want to do...yes :D There are a lot worst things you could do. Though I would aim to stop if only for the money

& the rest ! Last figures I saw said that each person would have to pay at least £375 a year more. As only approx 30 million out of 65 are working +tax paying pensioners , about 10 million, means that those aying tax would have to contribute at least double that to make up for the 25 million .

Where do you get it for 6,25€ ? It's 6,75 official price. Makes you wonder at the waste of money by governments when the price has gone up on this 300% in 8 years ! They've shot themselves in the foot as the cigarette sales have gone down 34% & hand rolling tobacco 55%.

I quit smoking in 1968, at which time I smoked 20 - 25 cigarettes a day. Think of how much money I have saved!! I only wish I knew where it went.
