Young man from Coín murdered in Bournmouth
Re: Young man from Coín murdered in Bournmouth
Making a few assumptions there he may not be even known to the authorities as mad If this guy was sooo weird why did he not move in with his Spanish friends or girlfriend! No one knows enough to make sweeping statements at this stage...do the Scots deal with madness differently
Re: Young man from Coín murdered in Bournmouth
Yes the 2007 Mental Health Act (which doesn't apply in Scotland) made this controversial change:do the Scots deal with madness differently
"Criteria for detention
The so-called “treatability test” regarding long-term powers of detention is replaced by a new "appropriate treatment" test. This means that patients cannot be detained unless professionals can guarantee the availability of medical treatment, which includes psychological intervention, which is appropriate to each case."
Many have since argued that it puts the public at risk.

Most murders in the UK are committed by foreigners, although they could be mad too I suppose I think most of them are off their head with drugs.
Felt sorry for his parents when the returned to Coín. They said they just wanted to get home to cry and rest. He was an only child too.

All their hopes and dreams gone for the future- I just do not know how people cope in that situation, I can´t begin to understand how they must be feeling right now.katy wrote: Felt sorry for his parents when the returned to Coín. I never thought it was my fault, nor does anyone else.
He was still murdered in England though!

So it was an American man living in a flat with a Spanish man. Must be Bournemouth's fault then.
Funny how hindsight makes a lot of the content of this thread redundant, isn't it?

It begs the question why was someone with a criminal record for violence in the US be allowed to enter and live in the UK?

Because no one checks who does enter the UK, that's why.

Re: Young man from Coín murdered in Bournmouth
Where did it say that the killer had a criminal record?
Re: Young man from Coín murdered in Bournmouth
When someone (wrongly) posted that the murderer was English I googled only to discover he was a black American and there was a mug shot from an arrest and charge for battery in 2007 in Fulton County Jail.
Hence my question as to why an American citizen with a criminal record was allowed to both enter and then stay in the UK.

Crocodile tears from people who didn't know the man. How can they be "devastated" , that's for friends and family. They are more worried about their position in the community. They'll be sending teddy bears next

Well said, Katy, this insincerity and fake outrage is something which I hate to see, both on forums and in the press.katy wrote:Crocodile tears from people who didn't know the man. Here here.
You can spend, minutes, hours, days, weeks or even months over-analyzing a situation; trying to put the pieces together, justifying what could've, would've happened - or you can just leave the pieces on the floor and move the f**k on.

Re: Young man from Coín murdered in Bournmouth
Agree, I fail to see how you can be devasted for someone you've never met, never known. All the nonsense when Princess Di died, I just don't get it. Any death is sad, yes you feel sympathy for their loved one's, but devasted, come on! All this public outpouring of grief is a modern phenomenon, mountains of flowers, you have to be seen to be grieving.katy wrote:Crocodile tears from people who didn't know the man.
