Just back from Scotland. Eye-opener right enough. I would say that on average, the cost of shopping in the UK is cheaper than Spain.

But Scotland will, soon, not be part of Uk?

Drat! If only my parents lived in Scotland or Up North I could save a fortune on my trips to visit them. As it is I'm stuck with Devon prices.

I spoke to a friend who lives in Devon, she says that your post is not representative of Devon in general , so therefore you will be ok going there, as Katie's post shows, there are always choices that can be
made :)
You did make her laugh though, she thinks we are all like spoilt kids    I think she has a point Lol !

Why don't the people who think it is cheaper to shop in UK do so and the people who think it is cheaper in Spain do so. All this comparison is like comparing champions in sport from differing eras , it is a matter of opinion and could be discussed ad infinitum. As it is!

Yes it is a bit pointless really. If you live in Spain you can't shop in the UK and vice versa. Still its interesting to see the differences but it's almost impossible to make meaningful comparisons.

If M&S did mail order food I would be the first to use them but sadly they don't!

It keeps the forum alive when people have something to discuss :) no need to take it to heart, why make it a personal war :(

So we already knew that UK is expensive for everything didn't we, but of course we don't really want to tell everyone that Spain is a great and cheap place to live in, otherwise we might be flooded with immigrants from the UK..

Anyway I'm thinking of moving to Macedonia if it is so cheap....

Errrmm.....Where is Macedonia !.. :?

Regards,
Gordon.
