£1.7bn EU demand
Re: £1.7bn EU demand
I agree with what you say. Cameron has no backbone, he will pay. He wants everyone to think what a nice guy he is, chucking our money all over the world. That is why people are turning to UKIP.
I notice that the amount being spent on flood defences has been cut. At the same time Calais gets a few million to look after the immigrants

Re: £1.7bn EU demand
I won't rip your argument to bits, Spud. In fact, if you look back over various posts I have always said that the UK is the architect of its own mess. Blaming the EU for everything and thinking that leaving the EU will make things 'better' are the thoughts of political novices. I like your post. I like your thinking, and not just because it coincides with mine. There's too much thoughtless rhetoric going on and sometimes the same people keep turning out the same spiel without noticing the world has moved on a bit - and that's just in Westminster.

You could include UKIP in that too

This has gone very quiet, or have I missed something ? Has DC put his hand in his pocket ?
I do not recall seeing anything reported.

Re: £1.7bn EU demand
The Mps are going to be in full election mode for the next few months so perhaps something will come out about the EU contributions. Mind you, DC said yesterday that the Tories have halved the deficit so don't expect any sensible statements from anyone any time soon.
Re: £1.7bn EU demand
The first instalment will already be in Junkers greasy palms. It's alright though as we get a rebate on it Brussels needs all it can get now they are to begin quantative easing.
I read this week that the UK pays 3 million each year into a propaganda fund for the EU. It gets just 300'000 back.

Re: £1.7bn EU demand
it seems that for once we are all on the same page, even me !
E U ripoffs notwithsatnding, my own view is that Politicians seem to have lost it oh, around 40 years ago or so !
Why do we (citizens) put up with this rubbish, at the end of the day (and the beginning and middle) they do nothing but line their own pockets and treat parliamentary debates as theatrical farce, they really are doing nothing for the people they are supposed to be representing ?
This is a very extreme view but I really would advocate a coup d*etat with the miltary in control until a new system of parliament is evolved, this would include imprisonment of traitors such as Blair and his ilk who dropped us in the soup in the first place ! barring this I'll definitely be giving the U K I P shot as they are the only ones who are telling me what I want to hear, let's see if they deliver, I have voted Tory for the last 30 years !!

Happy to be a misfit I find it strange that others think its ok to part of a union that isn"t accountable to anyone for anything but I won't be rude and call you names.

I hope you vote for them, the more who do, the better.
Re: £1.7bn EU demand
Mark did you see the latest poll in the Observer. UKIP are picking up Labour voters.

Sorry Mark, I'm not known for my sharp intellect (Northern lad to the core) but, I can't quite grasp your apparent opposing views are you for or against U K I P ?
in your first post you suggested they are a bunch of half wits, well that goes for all of the parties anyway !
And in your most recent post you seem to be willing them to win, explain please

Re: £1.7bn EU demand
I think Mark hopes Labour will get in by the back door if UKIP takes some of the conservative marginals. Probably the only way that misfit Milleband would stand a chance.

God almighty, don't people realise the amount of trouble that has been caused already by labour ?

Re: £1.7bn EU demand
Reading today of the Labour party's plan to inject 20 billion, yes that's what they're saying, into the economy, I really need a good laugh right now as my neurological therapy is not going to plan, so, are there any jokers out there (I know of at least one) who could theorise where it will come from !!
I'm ready for you Mark

Re: £1.7bn EU demand
Possibly the same place that Jean Claude van Damn Juncker is going to magic up 315 billion to support the Eurozone
So do you inject money into the economy to create jobs and thus taxation + tax the rich to death OR do you cut public spending(e.g care for the elderly) and hope Businesses prosper to create jobs(even though the Eurozone export market is going down the pan) to boost taxation receipts while creating more super rich individuals(cronies)? When you know the answer voting becomes simple. Or you can vote UKIP and get rid of Johnny Foreigner and the EU (except we all know we can never leave that club as we signed up for it in triplicate in blood)

Re: £1.7bn EU demand
With what has just happened in Paris I would have thought there might come a day, very soon, when a united response with our allies in Europe, and a co-ordinated effort, might come in jolly useful.
