Very hot weather

Postby El Cid » Tue Mar 31, 2015 5:15 pm

The weather seems to have gone mad where we are.

It was 18ºc this morning and reached 32.8ºc this afternoon. That is way higher than we have had in March in the last 12 years. It's more like July temperatures.

I know we put the clocks forward an hour last weekend, but it looks like someone moved the calendar forward three months!

So what's the RH down with you Guys ....... :?:

La Herradura.

Other stations may well be getting lower readings, but I can confirm my readings from three different, very accurate, digital thermometers as I am sure Gerry will also confirm.

Málaga was getting over 30c earlier today and the readings are higher as you go eastwards and inland.

32% when the temperature peaked. We are only 2km from the sea, so inland would be much lower. It certainly doesn't feel as hot as it does in July/August when the RH is much higher.

Isn't it fantastic, I love every second of it, but unfortunately, back to nearer normal next week. We have a rather high anticyclone sitting just west of the Azores. It starts to fall apart tomorrow.

Someone on Facebook quoted the Daily Mail saying we were all going to die?

I have 3 Weather stations and they are all reading over 30 today and 2 of them yesterday.

Yes, 8th April 2014 was 31.5c here but that was a peak, it didn't stay around 30c for so long as it has done recently.

At the moment we have what is officially called a "Heatwave" where the temperature is above average for a period of (I think) 5 days.

It is bound to average out, as it always does, so expect some really nasty weather before we finally get into the summer in June.

I don't think we'll get any really nasty Weather before the summer. A few showers and some wind, but nothing horrific. The Jet Stream is fairly stable just now and I think it will remain that way for some time; maybe even till next winter.

Just done our figures for yesterday: Max. 33.9 C, Min . 19.0C.

Not bad for the last day of March! Min. 17.5C last night so beginning to ebb by the look of it.

It was last Thursday that the winds seemed to change ... winter in the morning and summer in the afternoon. We have gone from having the log fire on day and night to flapping in the heat almost overnight!

Our living room was almost 27 degrees last night which is summer temperatures. The other night on Spanish TV they said it was the highest 'low' (20 degrees) in Malaga for March. It must be the hottest Easter week here for some time as often it is cold and wet

Feels like we've had four seasons in a week :eh: ... back to normal Easter weather now.

I have just heard my first Bee-eaters pass overhead so it must mean that summer is on its way  I hear the Cranes pass over every night as well ... I would say a bit later than usual. Like our orange blossom that is about a month later this year, everything has been put back by the cold spell in Feb/March time.

The colder the better for me. Love the rain, makes all the wild flowers come out. Hate July and August too hot and too many people. Love the winter and spring though!

So what is causing the oppressive warm, windy weather today please? Poor visibility too.
