Today I went to Decathlon just outside Malaga and purchased a bow and arrow set with target board for my 12 year old grandson. The ends of the arrows have sticky pads which obviously stick to the target board when fired. So far so good. Arrived at the check out and was told I needed a Licence !!!! so we went to return it to the right department. On the way we met an assistant and mentioned this licence.' No problem' he said 'it's free, and I can do it now'
Took a copy of passport and my details etc. This licence is issued by Real Federation Espanole de Tiro Con Arco. entitles me to only transport the item on the day purchased, not to use it on public or private land. So think my grandson will have to use it inside with the blinds down.....I kid you not, this really happened. Next door in Leyroy Merlins my husband was purchasing a very dangerous looking garden fork, no licence needed......If you don't believe me try it.
