Now seen Denial and Manchester by the Sea. Both excellent. Also seen Arrival, which had eight Oscar nominations. I'm not a SciFi fan so wan't expecting much - and that's what I got! Really have no idea why it was nominated for anything.
Mark, where on earth are you downloading from?! Even the most recent releases, usually you can get a screener version with a watermark, or one with Korean subtitles etc.

Mark, have a look at Silent Hunter in Kodi, really good for new arrivals. I think I saw "Lion" there.

Hi Miro
Just a personal preference but I'd rather watch a film without subtitles. I don't mind waiting for a high quality version. With Kodo there is buffering and some juddering which prevents me from enjoying the film.
I've just downloaded an 8GB version of Denial to watch this evening. I will stream it to my TV with Plex from my laptop or if it can't, to the Apple TV via my phone, which transcodes it and never ever buffers

If its quality you're after there is a 32gb version of denial available to download, which has not been compressed anywhere near as much as any of the smaller 8gb versions around.
Have to agree with Mark regarding Kodi and the vast majority of its addons (silent hunter about the worst possible quality), it's utter garbage, 95% of films are of incredibly poor quality and virtually unwatchable, way too many streams just aren't available, virtually none which proclaim they are HD are anything other than 480p. Too many have Hardcoded Korean Subs....dreadful. Its like going back in time to pirate VHS copies of films and the old p1ssing contest at the pub..."haven't you seen ET yet,we saw it weeks ago" scenario. One of the only half decent things on Kodi is Freeview at least their BBC HD etc is actual HD.
Can see No Point in having a Full HD or 4K TV and watching 480p streams on it....An insult to the TV

I use Kodi and I must say that I have not, so far, had a problem either finding a decent stream or decent copy. I use Real Debrid as well which gives me more streams to choose from.

It is all about personal preference. I like a decent quality picture and sound.
With audio, for some reason or other, I can't tell the difference between high quality and a lower one.Since I started to subscribe to Spotify, I have it set to the best audio but to be honest. I can't tell the difference from before when i used the free version and the lower quality.

30 Euros a year represents good value to me. I'm part of a 6 user group and i can download the songs or playlists I want to my phone with no adverts.
I used to spend more on CDs a year.

I generally don't pay. To me , even though I watch a lot of tele. If I can watch without interruption by buffering, and enjoy what I watch all this fast speeds and HD etc don't really bother me. I suppose it is down to the individual and their personal preferences. This started as someone recommending a couple of films which they had enjoyed!

Excellent film and well worth watching. Very poignant, especially at the end when she says she supports free speech but adding not if is used to peddle lies for their own ends.

Saw "Passengers" last night at the cine.

A light hearted sci-fi romp which is fun. Jennifer Lawrence, Chris Pratt, Michael Sheen (there's one other character) do a good job with a story and environment that is technically challenged. If you like your sci-fi to obey the laws of physics and be logical in its' time setting this is not for you.

But I enjoyed it as light entertainment.

In spanish with an easy story and only 4 characters it would be good for anyone advancing their intermediate spanish.

I only watch Spanish films in Spanish. One I watched recently is 'Living Is Easy with Eyes Closed' ( Vivir es fácil con los ojos cerrados).
Beautiful film set in the sixties. The title is taken from The Beatles Strawberry Fields. Well worth a watch.

Good spanish films:

Abre los ojos (the original to Vanilla Sky)
Alatriste (with Viggo Mortensen, can't believe he speaks 4 languages)
Pan's Labyrinth
El Espinazo del Diablo

English (americano):
Captain Fantastic (with Viggo Mortensen)
The Signal (2014, mindf-ck sci fi with Lawrence Fishburn)

swedish:
A man called Ove (oscar nominated, which means it is a must see)
