Web page blocked by Fuengirola.

Postby Thomas10 » Sat Mar 04, 2017 1:41 pm

Hi! - Anyone tell me why a web page is blocked - by Fuengirola (FortiGuard Web Filtering)? -
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Web Page Blocked! Web Page Blocked!

Access to this page is restricted due to its category or its contents do not correspond to the programmed activity.

Access to this page is restricted due to its content or its content does not correspond to the purpose of this service.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This does not tell me much -

Forgive me if I seem a little dense, but at the moment I am immersed in Reddit, and watching S-Fi pictures of spaceships, and other innocent stuff. *beep* I could understand, but artwork ??? :wtf: And the same, sometimes, with Free Fonts.

Just curious.

Must be your ISP? Highly doubt the communidad can block your internet above your ISP, never heard of it.

Hi Thomas10,

Some questions for you to answer that may point to your problem............

Are you accessing the Internet from a home network............. :?:

Who is your Internet Service Provider .(ISP)........... :?:
What Anti Virus and Firewall are you using................ :?:
Are you using any Smart DNS or VPN in your Network setup........... :?:

What browser are you using............. :?:

If you want to post a screen shot , use Snipping Tool and upload to Forum or PM (Private Message)me via https://postimage.io/

1. Only happens when I am plugged in the Public Library, Next to Biopark zoo -
and just this minute, the one at the big football ground. So here is an example.

2. Google

3. Oops! No antivirus. (yet)

Firewall (Microsoft) - set on default.

4. Do not know what you mean

5. Win 7.

I cannot see a way to upload an image to the forum, or I would have done in the reply.
So am sending them to your address.

( Am also curious as to why it is in English . . . but that´s by the by.)

This is the address I was at -

& when I clicked, the address below was blocked.

Hi Thomas10,
Thanks for answering my questions, some interesting answers but the main one that answers your original Post.

"1. Only happens when I am plugged in the Public Library, Next to Biopark zoo -

A lot of Public Wifi will run Internet Filters so generally keep what one views Family Friendly..........like any A.I. the algorithm for filtering the content can get a bit confused so blocks a page that is Family Friendly.

Please get an Anti Virus installed TODAY..........a good free one...............Avast

OK Thank you. Sounds about right. Like ´Not done on purpose´-

I am still waiting for postimage.org to send me a password.
In the meantime please could you explain how to upload an image to the forum - for this and another time in the future -
I see (img) just there, but cannot figure it out.

Thank you for your clarification

Hi Thomas10,
You don't need to get involved with passwords with Postimage.

Just Upload your Picture, select Thumbnail for Forums and Paste in to your post..............Example.......

Image

You can also load a picture directly to the Forum on an initial post....using the Full Editor and Attachment tab

"If you wish to attach one or more files enter the details below. You may also attach files by dragging and dropping them in the message box."

Pictures need to be up to 400KB (about)............just loaded one of 402KB as a test...........see Forum Rules

From the Admin Post.........
"The facility to Upload photos has been added for a trial period. This can be done via an "Attachment" tab below the post creation box. There is a maximum file size of photo set to 400kB. Please do no upload photos of widths greater than 800 pixels."

Check size of Picture you want to post, If larger than above sizes, adjust. Lyric Posted one way to do it. El Cid says its easier with iMac as program already comes with OS.

The one I Posted was............. .jpeg 960 x 1280, size 244KB ( whoops broke the width rule  )
Click on Attachments
Then Drag and Drop into Posting box.

I used the Paint program that comes with Windows 7 to Resize the Width to 800 pixels to comply with the Rules...........

See original Thread on Posting Pictures after Forum Upgrade..............

VPN (Virtual Private Network) makes use of virtual connections that will work exactly like you are accessing the internet through your connection. What happens here is that your IP address will be a different one and all the traffic from your connection will be encrypted. Anyone trying to access your data will not be able to read the data as it is encrypted.
Anyway, your problem may consist in geo-restriction imposed on the webpage. In such a manner, you'll need to choose another VPN server to connect.
As I understand, you have never heard about VPNs, but here you can read about how to choose the best one if it's needed.

Thomas, just a thought, have you tried this in any other library? the reason I ask is because my local library, in Las palmas have certain site blocking er thingies to prevent people from accessing certain types of site. could be it's a local policy thing.
