Solicitor

Postby Sandramay » Thu Aug 24, 2006 12:54 pm

Hi, can anyone tell me if it is necessary to use a solicitor/ obogado to make a Spanish will, or as in the UK, can we write our own? Any info / advice would be appreciated.

A solicitor is advised as it has to be witnessed in front of a notary.

No you do not need a lawyer. You may need a translator if you do not speak Spanish or the notary does not speak English sufficiently well but a lawyer would definitely be surplus to requirements and an unnecessary expense.
