SINCERE DOG LOVERS.....CAN YOU HELP?

Postby kerry lackey » Tue Oct 24, 2006 1:49 pm

Circumstances have dictated that we have recently had to move from a rented countryhouse into our own townhouse that we currently have up for sale taking our 2 large podenco-cross dogs with us. Although we have a fair sized garden, they are unable to settle having been used to spending their days racing around 12,000sqm of land. It´s heartbreaking to see how listless they are becoming and we need to take action.

Can you help?

1) Do you have a sizeable, fenced-in (secure) piece of land with some shelter where we could house them until our house sells and we can all move to a suitable place in the country? We would be reasponsible for daily feeds and care.

2) Do you have a property with land (as above) that you use infrequently and would be happy to have some canine security :-) and the knowledge that someone is visiting daily?

3) Last Resort: Could you give a permanent home with love, care and attention to our 2 boys?

They are 2yr old males that have been chipped, have all their innoculations recorded and have been regularly wormed.

We rescued them as part of a litter of 7 at one week old when their abandoned mother became too ill to rear them (hence our attachment). They are strong, healthy, inquisitive, fast yet placid in nature. They are used to spending much of their day on the land, chasing birds, collecting rocks and logs, watching the rural comings and goings and generally amusing themselves. When the weather is bad, they are happy to sleep inside but are accustomed to sleeping together outside in a big kennel. They are quietly curious of new house guests but pretty vocal with loitering strangers around the property. They are a hunting breed so will chase anything that moves fast, rabbits chickens, cats etc......

If you feel you can help us with Schubert and Spesh (short for Special because he is) or are looking to buy a large renovated house in the Antequera area!, please call Kerry or Christine on 952716278 or 609244282

Forgot to add........we live in Archidona, North of Malaga Province, close to Antequera.

We speak fluent Spanish and would happily exchange our translating and interpreting skills for temporary housing of our dogs.
