How do you get to post a photo on a posting?
Thanks
Steve

Hi Robano,
Get yourself a photobucket account........upload your picture.......
you may need to resize it...320px x 240px gives a reasonable size picture to post.
Copy link code to your post ......preview post and see what it looks like........if ok post

There are other picture posting sites.........others will have their favourites 8)

Thanks Enrique

I have done what you suggested using my own website but it doesn´t show the picture only the link.

Hi,
I saved a copy of your picture uploaded it to photobucket, it came down on post with uppercase IMG, changed to lowercase

Added: I see your original one from your site had lowercase :?

Need a picture geek to explain :)

Ps: the dogs are about to run in last winters snow in Andalucia.

Hi Robano,
That's odd would have thought it would have worked for you on photobucket, need Beachy or "The Cid" to come on and put us right ......or Wildside he posts a few pictures.

HI,

No matter where you image is stored, either on your own website or at a image hosting site you need to have the correct URL.... Test that by just pasting the URL into a browser and you will see the image...

To hotlink the image into a post just paste in the URL and then highlight all of it by right clicking and dragging over the text of the URL then click the IMG button 4th from the right on the tool bar in the post message window... This will surround the URL with.......

[img]put%20the%20url%20of%20the%20image%20here[/img]

Hope that helps

In the list of 'options' below the message box, there is one "Disable BBCode" - make sure that this hasn't got a tick in it (click on it to remove it). If it is ticked then only the script showing the link will be shown and not the actual photo.

Thanks - you are all brilliant.

I renetered the url and then highlighted and clicked IMG - which is not the way I did it first time!!

Then I got rid of BBCode which was ticked - and now its worked. What are BBcodes anyway??

Cheers

Stands for Bulletin Board codes... keyboard short cuts to do fancy stuff

    [quote][/quote]

You could just type things like that in with the square brackets and the start code.. the end code is signified by the same word but with forward slash in front of it

I've no idea what they are either .... but it works  I'm sure sure someone will enlighten us  (oh ... someone has already beaten me to it - your post was quicker than mine Wildside!)You need to do the same if you are quoting a post as well otherwise that doesn't work properly ....

You can change your option settings by going into User Control Panel, then Board Preferences, then 'Edit posting defaults', where you can change 'Enable BBCode by default" to Yes, then you don't have to remember to 'disable BBCode'.
