I keep track of the forum by checking 'view new posts' to see what I have missed. Sometimes I will get say, 18 new posts, but don't have a chance to read them all. When I come back and refresh the page (or if I click on a post and then go back), suddenly there may be only 2 or 3, and the rest that I haven't read are no longer listed ! If I go to the board index and check each topic, I will find the 'missing' posts, but it's irritating when there is supposed to be a ready-made tool for this
Is it only me ?

Re: View new posts
When you are selecting the posts you want to view from the new posts list hod the Control key down before you select with the mouse. This will open a new tab near the top of the screen. You can down down the full list this way and each selected item will be opened with a new tab. You then just select from the tabs at the top and when read close that tab with its own X.
Thats how I do it, its very frustrating to have what happens to you. I have same problem on another forum.

I could agree with that, were it not for the fact that some days, there is a great long list, including ones I have already read (shown 'not black')Beachcomber wrote:That's because they are no longer 'new posts'.
Conehead - thanks, I will try that tip

It is because your forum session automatically expires after a while.
When you come back and refresh the page it logs you back in automatically, but in a new session.
I suggest you use this link:
search.php?search_id=active_topics
and you can easily tell which posts have been read.
Unread posts have this icon:
