Banning someone for correcting a peson's spelling I would suggest is a little harsh though.
Possibly - but if you do it to a Newbie you will have to take the consequences.

All these "do's and dont's" have put me in a rather rebellious mood I fear so here goes... Does it really matter if there are more people registered than actually post? Three pages discussing a non-issue is worse than a Civil Service Committee to discuss the quality of the canteen tea! Back to my bunker now!

Am I missing something here?

We are now on page 3 about members that have never posted but I have yet to work out why. What is the problem with having members that don't post?
I've got an inferiority complex, but it's not a very good one!

I totally agree i think its called "free expeession" and the lack of it is ok too.
I read over the last few days that one of the leading contenders to be elected to President Ireland for the next term was making very few comments and that it was working in his favour.
I wonder can we give him a roasting??

Anyay there will not be so many newbies, the days of people being able to afford to buy properties abroad or retire early seem to have gone.

I read it as not only Scotland, quote from the article " He also told Birrell that there was "no place in our modern society" for the use of the internet to spread or support abuse or to target people." The our society as in general not specific to any country. It is all too easy to type what ever you like on the internet true false or just plain nasty.

I am one of the members who have not posted for several year.although I am a regular visitor to A.COM and have found some really helpful advice on here. The main reason I don't post is that some of the members come across as very bombastic and give the impression that if you do not agree with them you are stupid. An example given was a recent post headed "why are ex pats such liars"? "How insulting is that" ? Things like that do not encourage people to write in.
I have no doubt that I shall now get some very nasty replies but my back is broad and I can always opt out of posting for another two years.
