It's worth pointing out that Lake Vinuela is not actually a lake! It is a reservoir, providing water to towns on the coast. So, although I don't know the facts, I'd be extremely surprised if it had any sewage going into it, that would be rather counter-productive!!!!

One of the reasons that houses were not supposed to be built around Lake Viñuela is that any output from septic tanks will percolate down the slopes and end up in the reservoir.....of course the blinkered people who built or bought houses there never bothered about that...
