Reply to [email protected] quoting your old reference number and just let them know you've rebooked because of a price reduction.
i never give them the new reference number just in case they cancel that as well!

You can also contact them on [email protected]

Does anyone know if Malaga Goldcar and Firefly have improved? I've not used them for two or three years but a friend has used them several times over the last year with no problems or even charges for dents in the case of Goldcar.

Can anyone update?

I think it's hit and miss with those two.
Lots of bad reviews on the internet, you might be lucky, you might get a staff member who is having a bad day and wants to be awkward.
I always used to use Firefly booked through DYS.
I found them good during their early days but I've been hiring direct with malagacar.com for the last 18 months and the level of service, quality of cars, non pushy staff, speed of collection is excellent and i would recommend them.
You don't get the feeling that you're being taken advantage of.

I can only second that, been using them albeit once a year but have done so for more years than I care to remember.

With the current exchange rate, this years hire of 15 days for a Bentley continental ( ok ok, seat Ibiza 1.4 or similar   ) is costing me about £200.

You cannot go wrong with that!!!

I think you have to weigh everything up with car hire, not just go for the cheapest price.
Sure, you can get a cheaper daily rate by booking through DYS but do you want to end up with a car from
rent a wreck ,aka Record or risk being taken advantage of by Goldcar.
By the time you take fuel policy into account Malagacar ,I believe,is the best option.......especially for peace of mind that you're dealing direct with a reputable company.

It's fixed. It's from their facebook page. I use it all the time. It applies for certain models only. I usually get the megane.

Thanks Littlemo.
I normally end up with a Corsa which is plenty big enough for two.
What would be nice is if you got a choice of car within the same group.
I've never bought a Vauxhall/Opel and never will but it would be nice if they said at the desk "what do you want,Opel,Fiat,Peugeot " etc.
i secretly want to try out a Fiat 500!

Last trip I booked a Renault Kangoo 'or similar' from Malagacar, expecting something in size similar to the old Citroen Berlingo/Peugeot Partner. I had a mini meltdown when they showed me a new (much larger) Fiat Doble....frightened the life out of me, but actually it was OK to drive :D

Sometimes the megane is cheaper with the code than the corsa. It was 10 euro dearer this time but it's the only car i have had that lets me overtake on the mountain motorway road outside Benalmadena.

Hello Littlemo and everyone.
Within a few days of my trip now so rechecked the price with malagacar.com.
Gone down 20 euros and is now half the price when I originally booked a few months back.
If you do book a car best to keep checking your rate and follow littlemo's advice and use the discount code hellofan.
Malagacar are very good on their communications and confirm very quickly if you cancel.

Back again also , made the mistake of having a Toyota Avego from excellent Malagacar ,it was fine on the motorway between Malaga and Velez but going up the mountain to Sedella was a first and second gear job all the way up ,in future I will get a larger car . Only one complaint about this rental , the windscreen inside the car was filthy and when the sun was on it you could not see the road . I always thought Malagacar where a 24 hour operation but we got there early @4.45 am and had to wait until 0500 for them to open (not a problem ) and why do Ryanair fly at such an early hour to Bournmouth ,it used to be later in the day ,in future it will be Easyjet from Bristol unless Ryanair amend its flight times.

I'm just back too,I always seem to get an Opel Corsa, wouldn't mind a change.
malagacar does open at 5am,though it was open at 4.50 am on my last trip and i was in the airport 5.02.
Good service.
Does anyone know what counter 4 is at Malagacar "Full package fast track"
Does this mean if you take the full insurance package you can skip to the front if there's a queue?
