HI
I am bringing my dog with me for the first time this year. I know they have to be secured in the car but all the harnesses I can find attach to a seat belt. Is it acceptable to use the harness and secure it to an anchoring hook in the back of the car i.e. the luggage area of a hatchback. Using a cage is not an option for us.

Hi baynigg,
Secure dog from a dog harness to boot anchor point, I regularly travel with three in "boot" of Kangoo, chained to anchor points. I use my Bikejoring/Cani-X harness on the dogs.

That's great, thanks for your help.

I'll second that. The road refresher is an excellent bit of kit.

Re: Travelling with a dog in the car
I have a large dog cage which my 3 small dogs share. I take it they don't need to be harnessed and tethered if they're in the cage. One of them is blind and they rest and sleep together normally which gives her security.
