Senda litoral de Malaga

Postby andalucia » Fri Aug 19, 2016 12:37 pm

Hi there,

Senda litoral de Malaga / Malaga Coastal path

We have been working on a page on the partly completed Malaga coastal path. Forum members have previously commented on the La Cala de Mijas to (nearly) Cabopino section before.

This is the Andalucia.com page describing the path and includes a google map with the path and its current status marked on it.

We were hoping that forum members with local knowledge would be able to check the section in their area and advise us of any corrections or updates accordingly.

Thanks and happy walking.

When you look at the map it becomes obvious how little is complete.

If it is going to be achieved by "building new paved paths " as stated then I hope it is never completed.
Nothing against a coastal path but I would be happier to walk along the beach, natural sand dunes etc. than on a paved path which is often an eyesore in a natural setting.
Cheers

Don't know about "paving", I think the idea is to build boardwalks ( a la Caminito) where there isn't already a paved route such as the paseos through coastal towns. The section we've walked between La Cala and Calahonda is lovely and not an eyesore IMHO, beats struggling along sand and rocks, and covers the bits that were impassable before without walking on the N340!
Don't worry about what people think, they don't do it very often

We have walked the La Cala Mirflores section and its very nice. Not too impressed with what they have done at Cabopino though.

Is the surface suitable for a pushed wheelchair? The type with the smaller wheels.

The wooden walkways are planks of wood about 5mm apart so would be quite bumpy in a wheelchair.
