Dear Forum,
Can anyone inform me if there are 'fixed' Taxi fares from Seville airport into the City Centre.
I shall be flying into Seville on Monday 7th November, arriving at 16:10 hours.
Many thanks
Mick. (London)

The taxi should be on a meter so it will vary slightly depending on traffic.

But all taxis in Spain must use a meter system now. Its supposed to stop people getting ripped off.

Our taxis in Frigi don't have meters!

Re: Taxi fares from airport into City
Due to a delayed flight getting us into Mälaga after the last train to Torremolinos (Thanks a mil RyanScare!) we were forced to take a taxi home last night. After the initial tutting when we told the driver our destination (same thing used to happen when we lived in Palma - seems they get peed off after queuing on the rank for hours when they get a short fare, but not everyone is going to Alcudia / Marbella, so tough luck), we endured the helter skelter, suicidal, maniacal seat-of-your-pants ride, and were a little shocked at the €19 fare. Unfortunately, I only had a €50 note and some small change amounting to about €11, which sent the driver almost into apoplexy. Apparently, as a client, it is my "obligation" to ensure I have the correct change. I can't think of any other business that would be so audacious as to even try to claim this. Is it true? Has anybody else come across this? I understand taxi drivers not wanting to carry large amounts of cash, but this guy had probably been ranked up at the airport for the last 3 hours doing sweet f*** all, and didn't have €30 in cash on him. Really? It's not like his average far is the price of a caña - the meter drop alone is around €5. He even had a go at me for not offering to go look for a bar where I could ask for change. After midnight, after a long & unpleasant flight, this guy was really a great ambassador for Spain.
P.S. he took the fiver and small change, flinging some small coins back at me, and drove off in a cloud of verbal insults!

Don't worry about what people think, they don't do it very often
