Malaga ferry

Postby Stevemul » Sun Mar 05, 2017 7:14 pm

A little intrigued!
Spending a nice Sunday afternoon in Malaga where a Baliaria ferry sailed into the Port and moored.
I wondered what it's route was so I googled them to find that Malaga is not on any of their routes!
Does anyone know anything about them please?

Hi Steve
They used to have regular sailings between Malaga and Melilla in Africa (but Spanish). Can't think they would have stopped them, used to be pretty busy.

It has now left the Port so I'm tracking it on the Marine Traffic app.
Odd that it shows Baliaria lines but owners are Hellenic

Yes, heading for Melilla. Maybe a chartered vessel.
Thanks Richard

They have been operating between Morroco and malaga for about 2 months now. They are the fastest crossing, around 45 minutes quicker than the others. There are 3 operators from Malaga on that route now.
