Primera air?
Looking at flights from AGP to Brum in June and see that Primera air have started to fly the route. Has anyone got any views, as they're cheaper than Uncle Mick for my dates.

Re: Primera air?
There's already another thread on this company:

I did a search on Skyscanner today for some flights to/from London and they did look quite competitive but I ended up going with other airlines as they had reasonably priced flights to Gatwick, which was preferable for me compared to Stansted.

Re: Primera air?
As per the other thread the reviews are not that good.

Re: Primera air?
I'm not sure where Brum is but I see they are flying 3 times a week to Manchester. They are a Norwegian company who have been flying within Europe for quite a few years. Why would you even ask if they are good!. Never mind the quality, feel the width. It's only 3 hours of your life!
Re: Primera air?
It's the possibility of being more than "3 hours of your life" that makes people, quite rightly, cautious.

From the reviews and what I've read about them it seems that they have a fairly small fleet of older planes, so if one breaks down there can be huge delays.

Oh well, I’ve booked it now - luckily it’s for the wife. I’ll report back mid June, but until then fingers are firmly crossed!

I think they are actually Icelandic, at least according to Wikipedia...ajtg1952 wrote:They are a Norwegian company who have been flying within Europe for quite a few years.

Looks like they're from somewhere north of Watford at any rate.Primera Travel Group, an Icelandic company that consists mainly of Nordic tour operators Solresor, Bravo Tours, Lomamatkat, Heimsferðir and Solia. Its primary goal is to provide scheduled air travel services, and flights for tour operators and charter flights.
Rather than starting another thread, I thought I'd ask the question here...
During my recent flight search I noticed that one of the LGW-AGP flights on the British Airways site was operated by Titan Airways. Has anyone here flown with them?
Re: Primera air?
Having had my Tuesday return flight cancelled due to the French ATC strike the other day I was thankful to Primera Air as they were the only airline with flights available the next day. I don't think most people knew of them so whilst Ryanair etc were fully booked for several days we were able to get home only a day later, although obviously at a cost (Over 200 pounds each) as I was booking last minute.Wicksey wrote:From the reviews and what I've read about them it seems that they have a fairly small fleet of older planes, so if one breaks down there can be huge delays.
However, I would not choose to fly with them again. The worse thing was having to check in at the airport. Usually we are straight to the gate with our hand luggage but we had to endure a long wait like the old days, of everyone having to check in. They allowed 2 bags as with Ryanair but with a total weight limit for the 2 of 10kgs. One check-in desk was weighing everybody's and was being very strict as to what was allowed. Our check in desk wasn't thankfully as I'm not sure our total weight would have been within the limits (I believe Ryanair's limit is for the main carry on case and doesn't include you smaller handbag/second bag as well). The boarding cards they had printed out then never worked at the automated security entry so we had to queue again at the manual entry, and even at the gate they admitted they weren't registering properly.
I was right about the plane (as quoted earlier) as it was old and very noisy compared to the lovely new Ryanair one we'd gone to the UK on. The seat back tray on the neighbouring seat was held shut with gaffer tape! It was on time though so that was something.

Stansted to Malaga on 20/05/2018 with Primera air.
Annoying having to queue for check in, when only carrying hand baggage. Took 20 minutes.
Comfortable seating with slightly more leg room than other airlines. Under seat space for bag, not as deep as usual. Plane itself, clean and modern.
No list for drinks/snacks, but small coffee was £2 (they came round with refills). Sandwiches £6, bit too expensive. No tax free shopping.
I'll use them again, if the price is right.

They are a specialist sub-charter company filling in when a larger operator has an equipment shortfall. They are usually reliable and good at what they do.Titan Airways
Just about the same age as your car, not old for an aircraft at all.it was old and very noisy
Spares for cabins are really hard to get and if not lockable in the upright position they have to be secured in some way or the ROW blocked off and not used. This is the law.
Re: Primera air?
The Primera flight to Malaga yesterday "taxied" into the stationary Ryanair flight awaiting take off for Dublin !!
Maybe, Wicksey, they were not pleased with your comparison of their fleet to Ryanair's - so it's all your fault then.

Our old car is noisy compared to a new one. We were in the same seating area as with Ryanair and it was extremely noisy in comparison.Lyric wrote:Just about the same age as your car, not old for an aircraft at all.it was old and very noisy

I was a bit concerned when, just as we were about to land, we were reminded if there was any sort of incident that needed an emergency evacuation we should leave all hand luggage on board, and to study the emergency procedure on the instructions. I thought the wheels must have dropped off or something I can't ever remember being reminded of the safety stuff 2 minutes before the plane is due to land.

We had the safety reminder just before landing last night (well, technically this morning - 2 am !) with Jet 2
