We had a paella in a restaurant in Torremolinos, advertised at one price and by the time we both had one drink and two small bread rolls, the bill nearly doubled. Wish I had known about the official complaint route.

Next time Mermaid, ask for the complaints book. Nothing like asking for the complaints book to shake up the restraunter to giving you a proper bill. These books are inspected quite often especially if a restaurant is under complaint a few times.

Similar thing happened to us, we checked the prices carefully before we ordered (we had not intended to eat out and only had about 30 € on us) so we ordered knowing we would be well within our budget and only had a soft drink each.... the bill came to almost 30€ At that time we did not have sufficient Spanish to say what are you playing at, but since then we have queried bills that are incorrect.
