Does anyone know the name of any of the bus companies that go up to Alicante or Murcia from Malaga. Or a web site would be useful

you can catch the bus from fuengirola but it takes about 12 hours to alicante. I looked at doing this journey by bus, train, taxi and in the end i hired a car one way and dropped it at alicante airport. The bus is the cheapest but i could'nt suffer 12 hours on a bus. it stops everywhere. the train takes about 8 hours as you have to go via madrid.

Take a look at Malaga bus station website http://www.estabus.emtsam.es/ and you will see that BACOMA bus company serves this route with several buses per day. If you consult the Bacoma web site which is within this http://www.alsa.es you can get further details including fares and stops. For example, the 08.30 bus to Alicante stops first at Granada at 10.05 then stops at Guadix at 11.21 and then Baza at 12.01 then Puerto Lumbreras at 13.15 then Murcia at 15.00 then Elche at 15.50 and lastly at Alicante at 16.20.
That's nearly 8 hours.
The quickest bus starts from Malaga at 3.30 in the afternoon and arrives at Alicante at 10 in the evening. (Murcia at 8.15)
